  Description

  HI! We are Paolo and Serena, and we have three lively children aged 16, 13 and 9! 🙂
  
  In autumn 2022 we left Rome, our city, for a life closer to nature and on a more human scale. We first chose Borno (BS), a pretty mountain village at 1000 meters above sea level in the heart of Val Camonica, with ski and snowboard slopes, mountaineering, mountain biking, trekking, trails, good genuine food and the dream of creating our own vegetable garden with the principles of permaculture.
  
  After Borno, we have moved again! We now live in a small town on the shores of Lake Iseo, in Costa Volpino, where the lake meets the Val Camonica. The mountains are still close by, but now we also have the water on our doorstep. 🌊
  
  The area is full of charm:
  
  Lovere, one of Italy’s most beautiful villages (“I Borghi più belli d’Italia”), with its lakeside promenade, old harbor and art gallery
  Pisogne, an authentic lakeside village that is easily reached by train, famous for the frescoes by Romanino in the church of Santa Maria della Neve, often called the “Sistine Chapel of the poor”
  Torbiere del Sebino, a protected natural reserve of wetlands and birdlife, perfect for walks and cycling
  Boat trips to Monte Isola, the largest lake island in Europe
  
  Our idea of a vegetable garden and a more sustainable lifestyle is still alive, though for now it is just an idea that we hope to realize soon. :-)

  We could obviously exchange knowledge on the Italian language, but also on holistic subjects such as reflexology, naturopathy, herbal medicine, bioenergetics, libertarian education and technological subjects, telecommunications and IT, a nice mix :-)

  Hébergement

  You will stay in a taverna (a cozy, comfortable lounge room on the lower level of our house) with a sofa bed and a bathroom. You are welcome to share the rest of the house with us, including the living room with kitchen and the garden.

  Autres infos...

  The house is in Costa Volpino, a small town at the northern tip of Lake Iseo, where the lake meets Val Camonica. The house is on a gentle hill: there is a short climb to reach it, but once you come down, the area near the lake is mostly flat. The town centre and the lakeshore are 10 minutes away on foot and 5 minutes by bike (the return is slightly uphill!). The train station is 50 minutes away on foot, and the line connects us to Pisogne and the other lakeside towns. There are also local buses, though with limited rides, so having a bike is useful.
  
  The area offers many ways to be in contact with nature: lakeside walks and cycle paths, and well-marked trails in the surrounding mountains, also suitable for bike trekking. Lovere and Pisogne are both close by, and in the warmer months the lake is full of life. Further up the valley there are many attractions to visit, such as the UNESCO-listed rock art sites of Val Camonica, and plenty of opportunities for free time.
