  Description

  We are a couple who moved full time to France from England 5 years ago to live the rural dream. We are currently restoring an old breton longhouse and developing its garden of 2 acres. The house is nearing completion, but the garden needs time spent on it to achieve its full potential. What we are looking for is help with the garden and hopefully someone who has good DIY skills to help with aspects of the restoration. What we can offer you is your own well appointed ensuite bedroom within a well restored interior. We are sociable people with many friends: friends who would welcome workaways to join in on the our varied social life.
  Our house is located in the centre of Brittany. Its a very beautiful rural area. It's about 45 minutes from the rose granite coast. The area is famous for its celtic history and boasts many fine building and historic sites. For us, the move to this area was the best decision we have ever made, and we would welcome you into our home.

  We like to entertain. So exchanging culture of both the French and English is offered. In particular cooking and life culture as experienced by ex pats. There will be lots of time to explore the area and good communication routes to travel further and experience the French way of life.

  Aide

  We are retired, but not of retirement age. Our house and gardens need that boost to get them over the line. So what we are looking for is someone who enjoys gardening. Weeding, planting, pruning and heavier lifting if possible, but not essential. The house is fully renovated, but on site is another building we have rebuilt. It is currently a shell. So we would like help boarding out the rooms, and general DIY to make it into a useable space. Ideally we want a person who can combine both areas of skill, but the garden is the first area, and the house the second. My background is in design teaching, so there would be the opportunity to develop practical skills if required.

  Hébergement

  Double bedroom with ensuite. All renovated to a high standard. The house dates from the early 1700's and is made from granite. We like to cook, so we would like to share our cuisine and are happy to take on board your different culinary skills. I am vegetarian, but my partner is a meat eater, so accomadating food requirements is not a problem

  The area us very rural. Train links are good, but a car is required. We could provide a car to enable you to visit the various historic towns in the area or travel to the stunning Rose granite coast.
