Welcome to our tropical island home on Koh Mak!
We are a Thai German family who have been living and working on this peaceful island for more than 20 years. Over the years, we have welcomed many volunteers and long stay guests from around the world who became part of our daily island life.
From June 10th onwards, we are mainly looking for a reliable and responsible person to help with house sitting, dog care, and light garden tasks while enjoying a calm tropical lifestyle close to the beach.
This opportunity is ideal for someone independent, trustworthy, and comfortable taking care of a home and animals in a quiet environment.
You would stay in our Beach House and help look after the house, garden, and dogs during our absence. Occasionally there may also be some light support needed around the resort, for example keeping an eye on reception or helping with small organizational tasks.
We provide ingredients for vegetarian meals as well as a kitchenette for preparing your own food.
We are a smoke free resort focused on health, movement, and wellbeing. Koh Mak is a small and peaceful island with a lovely local community. If you are looking for a quiet place surrounded by nature, beautiful beaches, warm weather, and a slower pace of life, Koh Mak could be the perfect place for you.
A minimum stay of one month is required. Longer stays of two months or more are preferred.
Whether you want to enjoy island life, spend time with animals, or experience a slower and more peaceful lifestyle for a while, we would love to hear from you.

Koh Mak has a small but very welcoming international and local community. Many long stay guests, volunteers, remote workers, and travelers from around the world spend time on the island and regularly join activities together.
If you are open minded, independent, and friendly, it is very easy to connect with people here and become part of island life.
On Koh Mak you can experience activities such as:

• Exploring nearby islands and beaches
• Cycling around the island
• Learning basic Thai language and local culture
• Enjoying a slower and more nature focused lifestyle
Living on Koh Mak gives travelers the chance to experience a calmer rhythm of life, tropical island culture, and a close connection to nature and the local community.
Aide
The main focus of this position is house sitting, dog care, and helping to maintain a calm and welcoming environment around the property.
Tasks may include:
• Taking care of the dogs and making sure they are safe and well looked after
• Staying at the Beach House during the agreed period
• Light garden care and watering
• Occasionally helping with small organizational tasks or basic reception presence at the resort
• Simple help around the house if needed
This is not intended to be a heavy physical work position. We are mainly looking for someone reliable, independent, and comfortable taking responsibility in a peaceful tropical environment.
The exact tasks can vary slightly depending on the season and what is needed at the time, but overall the role is focused much more on house sitting and general support than intensive resort work.

You will stay in a private room with an en suite bathroom at our Beach House surrounded by tropical nature and close to the ocean.
There is a kitchenette available where volunteers can prepare their own meals. Vegetarian and vegan ingredients are easily available on the island and nearby local shops.

There a lot of activities to do on the island like: diving, snorkeling, kayaking, biking, muay thai boxing, yoga, tennis, pickleball, badminton, cooking and more :-) During monsoon season activities might be limited.
