We stayed at Sheila and Doug's farm for a bit more than a week and we enjoyed every single day of it and learned a lot. The couple and their daughter are extremely welcoming and nice, we really felt at home away from home. Doug is an amazing cook and made sure we had a warm dinner every night. Because it was winter and Sheila and Doug work full-time next to managing the farm (so impressive!), there weren't too many big projects going on so we could explore the area a bit. There are some beautiful waterfalls around, which freeze up in winter and look equally stunning!
We are very grateful for the opportunity to have stayed with Sheila, Doug and Brynn, and we will happily return to experience this beautiful farm in summer time.Vous pouvez seulement contacter les workawayers avec une adhésion active.

I recommend Sheila and Doug's farm to everyone who is coming to BC (I came as a solo traveler and couldn't have picked a better farm!). Sheila and Doug are very friendly, welcoming, and incredibly funny people, who will make you feel at home right from the start. I especially enjoyed helping out with the daily feeding of all of their many animals (and every single one of them is also friendly and nice and will let you pet them). I couldn't have picked a better farm! Unfortunately, I only had time to stay for a week, but it was one of the best weeks ever. Thank you for everything, Sheila and Doug!

This was my third workaway in Canada and definitely the best experience I’ve had so far. Doug picked me up from the bus station and from the start they welcomed me into their home and made sure I had everything I needed.
The work consisted of daily chores to care for the animals and a variety of tasks to do throughout the day which included: snow

In days off they made sure I got to see everything the area had to offer including Kamloops, Wells gray park. There’s lots to do in and around the farm, I learnt how to ski/snowboard, drove a skidoo, Doug taught me how to drive the tractor and I took the dogs out hiking a few times.
Doug and Sheila are both incredibly funny and amazing people with lots of stories to tell, while I was only there for four weeks I feel as though I’ve made friends for life. Perfect hosts :)Vous pouvez seulement contacter les workawayers avec une adhésion active.

We stayed at Doug & Sheila's for almost five weeks and we had a great time.
We helped out with a lot of different things such as feeding all the animals, washing dogs in the kennel, brushing the horses, tidy up the barn, taking down all the christmas lights on the property (which is a lot) and smaller everyday tasks.
All the animals are very

Doug and Sheila themselves are great people and we had lots of great evenings together. (We watched TV together every night and got to know some funny shows) We even went Bowling one night.
They also offered us to take their car, so we could explore the area. We could also use their bikes and Sheila took us to the Myra Canyon, so we could bike there.
Overall we had a perfect farmstay and will definitely come back to visit!

We've stayed 3 weeks (was supposed to be 2😄) at Sheila and Doug's funny/hobby farm and really appreciated it.
They are really flexible and easy going people.
As we are fully self-contained, autonomous and our tasks were to redo the painting and fix some broken things of the trailer house on their property, which was next to our RV spot, we

The property is so nice and offers such a great view of the Valley. All the pets they got! Wow it's amazing!
We appreciated the opportunity we had to walk with the dogs of the daycare. Cause yes, the dogs daycare is really busy there.
We recommend a stay there, it's a lovely place.
Thank you so much Sheila and Doug for welcoming us, we enjoyed our stay and your openness to our different way of Workawaying.Vous pouvez seulement contacter les workawayers avec une adhésion active.

GUYS! You HAVE to come here! For being totally chill and honest always, inviting me along on adventures and hanging with her friends, I thank you Sheila! I would say we are CLASSIC proof that two completely opposite people can be best friends lol. Her farm is FULL of happy and crazy animals, and depending on the time of year you may be more or
… read more less busy helping her out. But believe me, any spare time can be spent giving her wonderful critters extra love (and snacks), because I know Sheila would be doing that all day if she could. And also, any little things I could do to help Sheila be the incredible badass superhuman she is and accomplish a million things a day, was my pleasure. I mostly helped out with the morning and night feeds of the animals, painted the cat room, cleaned some kennels, stayed on top of garbage/recycling/tidying/organizing duties, and loaded and unloaded feed, ect. Obviously, Kelowna is an incredible area and Sheila is more than happy to let you experience both her farm and anything else you are interested in. The upstairs roommate Lauren is super awesome and we went rock climbing, hiking, and skiing together :) If you have the chance to come here and you love to be surprised by goats hopping fences and plenty of dog cuddles, this is the place for you! 3 weeks was way too short, but I know I will be back! Love you Sheila! :DVous pouvez seulement contacter les workawayers avec une adhésion active.

Sheila and Rick,
Thank you for opening your home to us and truly going above and beyond right from the first moment of arriving in beautiful Kelowna. Our time at the funny farm was such a blessing, Sheila's animals are all so happy and friendly, which shows just how much they are all loved, it was easy for us to form attachments to Mr
… read more Fishwhiskers, Benny, and the goats, they're all such funny characters.
A special thank you to Lauren, Sheila's roommate for being so lovely, we had many a Grey's Anatomy marathon, keeping cosy by the fire. Sheila (bless her) made sure that there was plenty of vegan food around, she took us out to a plant based restaurant and introduced us to her great friends, Crystal and Adrienne, she brought us along to the Christmas craft fare. Sheila made sure that we weren't feeling house bound, we always felt looked out for, she even took us to the movies!
We could create our own work schedule following a list provided by Sheila which was very helpful and clear. With that we were hanging christmas lights around the property, helped out in cleaning the kennel (with very nice staff and dogs) and were babysitting the cats in the new cat hotel.
We are so grateful to have met Sheila, Rick and Lauren, they're all such kind and generous people. Sheila's always up for a good chat and we felt such a warm welcome, particularly with it being around the holiday season. We'd love to cross paths again in the future.
Lots of love!!Vous pouvez seulement contacter les workawayers avec une adhésion active.

I spent a week at Sheila's farm, for me it was a different experience, it had not interacted with animals for a long time, and I had not enjoyed dogs in a long time. It was interesting to see another kind of animal life in another part of the world. Sheila is a very good person, very kind. I thank you for having received me. I will always remember

Finaly i got time to write somthing down here sorry that it took me so long!! I stayed 4 weeks with Sheila and her crazy dogs. It was my first workaway experience and i could not ask for a better start! Sheila is a very friendly and funny host and she included me in her life right from the start. I met all her amazing friends and whenever somthing

Of course there was some work to do but thanks to all the snow it wasn't that much. The biggest part was taking care of all her lovely animals in the evening but once you know how to deal with those good looking but stubborn goats it's an easy job:)
If you got a chance to visit that place go for it! You will not regret it:)Vous pouvez seulement contacter les workawayers avec une adhésion active.

I stayed with Sheila for 2 months November-January 2016. I had come straight from the US and had no idea what to expect about Canada. I can safely say that this was not only my best workaway trip to date but also one of the best experiences of my life.
Sheila is a truly wonderful person who I consider a close friend. She totally invited me into

This is mostly helped by the three dogs, all of whom have their own distinct characters and are so very loving. One thing: - dont let Coke put you off. Make the effort with her and she is one of the loveliest animals you'll ever meet. As for Monster and Jack, what can you say!!!
Overall i can't recommend this place enough. All year round it's a paradise and the company is wonderful. Cook a meal for Sheila and she'll love you forever.
See you all soon Kelowna people!Vous pouvez seulement contacter les workawayers avec une adhésion active.

Pia stayed with me on my funny farm for just over two weeks, of the mucky Spring, in the Okanagan Valley in BC Canada. She was a very conscientious and helpful house guest, always keen to tackle the list of chores for the day with enthusiasm and a smile.
Pia's chores varied drastically from day to day. One day she was working in a hot chicken

The house hold itself is constantly busy with the onsite dog kennel and many house mates. We all really enjoyed her company and wished her stay could have been longer with us. Hopefully our paths will cross again someday and I wish her the best of luck in whatever her future holds.

Sheila is a fun and friendly host. In June I spent two weeks at her place and I felt at home immediately. Even though she's crazy busy she made me feel really welcome; we went to a crafts market, she took me to a BBQ with her friends and we went to a drive-in cinema. She really doesn't ask for a lot of work and the work is varied, I've been
