Description
We are a non-intentional community of 3 families living close to nature, sharing our aims and time between the rolling hills of the Zselic range in Southern Hungary. We are easy-going, open minded and welcoming people, our small group comprises of 4 adults and 3 teenagers, with other locals joining our activities occasionally. our place is quiet, located at the end of a small village with 120 inhabitants, where most locals work in the forest or their own gardens. Our project is focused on learning how to interact with horses and our environment in a responsible way. We do not have any agenda, program or itinerary, everyone can go and spend time in nature and with the horses at their own pace. Locally there is a lot to see: forests, nature, hiking trails, small villages and farms. You can go hiking, wandering, visiting local hiking areas or just chill out on a hillside surrounded by quiet and nature. there are also smaller towns nearby where you can eat out, walk around or buy stuff if you feel the need arising. We do not work, or make money and we are not involved in any business, enterprise or livelihood. No volunteer is responsible for taking care of horses, that us done by us, we just invite volunteers to look and see what we do and if they want they can join us. We do not expect volunteers to take any responsibility with the farm animals, they are free to just sit and watch us work. We are happy to show and share our daily routine and skills, but no one is expected to do anything they are not comfortable with.

Almost everyone among us speaks English, Hungarian and has travelled extensively, so we can give you a different angle on Hungarian traveller subjects. Learning: we are busy with our own shot at minimalism, ecological living, non-violent communication and mindfulness.

Our dream is to offer an alternative way to experience the thrills of connecting with horses and learning about these wonderful creatures as well as ourselves. We find it important to give ample respect to all participants, be they two or four-legged, young or old, so we use mostly modern natural horsemanship methods, (Monty, Parelli, Rashid, Anderson)
We are looking for social person(s) or family who have experience with or are willing to learn about horses and living a rural, self-sufficient lifestyle in Hiungary.

They gave me a little shack to live in and basically left me there. If you offer help, somehow it doesn't work. They tell you what's needed around the property and can or can not help with that, on your own. Rarely they came and asked help for specific activities.

It was such a pleasure to stay with Ron, Kata, Bejke and Csongi. I enjoyed a lot all the activities , they proposed. I learned a lot as milking the cows, making pasta, and we spent also nice time gardening, building, feeding animals, experimenting horse riding and playing with children. But it is not all,… read more
