Description
We are a family of 4 that loves to have friends over, host visitors and spends time at the lake. We don't have a specific project to offer for you but can offer you time with our family and friends and free time to spend at the lake or in the mountains. It's no problem for us to lend you a bike while we're at work.
Two things are very important to us:
We're a non-smoking household and therefore also only accept non-smokers.
At this point we only accept someone who is able to speak French or German (on a basic level at least) because those are the languages that the children speak and understand.

We speak German, English and French. At home we don’t speak French so it’s not a good place for you if learning French is your focus. You are welcome to stay with us to improve a language (although basic skills in German or French are required for practical reasons), teach us a language or just to have a place to stay or work (as a digital nomad) in the beautiful area around Lausanne in exchange for help around the house.

Aide
We expect about 3-4h of work on 5 days a week or less on 7 days a week. Since you'll be working with us and will participate in our daily life it's sometimes hard to count the exact hours that you're helping out but it will never be too much. The rest of the time is free time that you'll have to yourself.
It really depends on your preferences but in general we would have these tasks:
- Cooking: We would love for you to come and share your cooking with us as we have only limited time to do so but love homecooked meals. Don't worry, we don't expect you to be a professional cook. Just normal cooking skills.
- Laundry/cleaning: We need help doing the laundry and some basic cleaning.
- Going grocery shopping (alone or with us and the children)
- Dishes: Load and unload the dishwasher daily
Our most important request is to tidy up the house (every) evening (kitchen/living room/dining table) around 7-8pm.

You love hiking in the Jura or the Alpes, bike riding, skiing or any water sport on lake Geneva? Lausanne is the place to be for you. We live next to a metro station that takes you right to the city center in only 12 minutes and only 6 minutes by metro to the next train station where you can take many trains to do outdoor sports or visit other cities. The lake and its beaches are only 10 minutes by bike from us or 25 minutes walking distance. We don't go skiing but there's many places nearby that you can reach easily via public transportation.

If you're a digital nomad looking for a place to work, we can offer you your own room with a working desk that used to be our office. The internet connection is great and during the day you'd have lots of quiet time to work because we're working as well at university and the children are at school/daycare. If you like to switch places, the university is very near and has co-working spaces or libraries where you can work. The lake is only 10 min walking distance from the university or 10 min by bike from our place if you want to spend your breaks there. We've had friends staying with us and working from our place before and they always really enjoyed it.
