From the moment Phoebe arrived, I knew I had won the lotto!!! This girl is an absolute gem. She is so kind and caring, and hilariously funny ( attributes that are essential in all business ventures but even more so in hospitality). Her professionalism is second to none, she is SO on the ball, has a very sharp mind and her attention to detail is to

You can count on Phoebe if you are lucky enough to have her:) Aside from helping us here and enhancing the visitor experience for our guests, Phoebe thoroughly enjoyed the social aspect of life on the Dingle Peninsula. She quickly became a part of the community and everybody loved her:) They still do! Her passion and love for Irish language, culture, music and dance is a joy to behold. She epitomises the ethos of the workaway concept. Thank you to workaway for the opportunity and the privilege that enabled us to connect with Phoebe:)

I left Denise's and Diarmuid's home, Guesthouse, 5 months ago now, but their warmth, laughter and spirit are as strong and lingering in me now as then.
I spent July and August living in this gorgeous part of Ireland and working with Denise; her beautiful and unique life's work. As per the profile, I cleaned, greeted guests, battled with the rain
… read more to get laundry dry, cooked and harvested fresh veggies. I also laughed until I cried, learnt heaps, enjoyed chats and dinners, herded calves, sunbathed (rare!) and partook in family events. The work is fast and hard, but great craic. You will be up early, speeding around doing many things, all the while in the company of the delightful, slightly nutty Denise.
**I do not recommend this Workaway if you like to lie in, if you are not self motivated, driven or blessed with common sense.**
Denise has built up a renowned guesthouse, located in a gorgeous village outside of Dingle town, she promotes sustainability and the local community and Irish language. The love she has for her work, her family, and her local community are tangible. She is a loving and caring person who will help you endlessly, as long as you are willing to help yourself. You will be embraced into this captivating community and I recommend you go along for the ride, West Kerry is a special, and wild experience.
Aside from work, I enjoyed swimming in the cold waters of the local rivers and beaches, cycling and the delights of Dingle town. The majority of my free time was spent dancing and if you want to learn Irish Set Dancing and enjoy the addictive traditional Irish music, you are in the best place in Ireland! Get yourself to Dingle whenever you can. It was how I met so many wonderful people who I am blessed to call dear friends.
I left a part of my heart there, in those gorgeous stone walls, in the Begley family, along the winding, windy roads, in the frothy break of the Atlantic's waves, in the buzz of Neligan's Pub, in the soul-enriching trad music, in the people of this incredible community.

This was such a wonderful workaway that I would recommend to anyone. Denise and her family are so genuine and kindhearted. They made me feel welcome from the moment that I got there.
The work is enjoyable and only takes a few hours each day. Denise is great at explaining how to complete turnovers and how to finish each room to a high standard.

Even though somedays were misty, windy or just cloudy it was always warm and cosy in the kitchen - we were doing chores while listening J.J. I used to finish my tasks at lunch time and there was plenty of time to explore local area which has so much to offer (guys, the views!!! it is like paradise on earth). Dingle town nearby is also charming and offers all you need during your stay. In this corner of the world you feel like a part of local community too - everyone is keen to chat with you (do not be surprised to hear irish at first) and you are always welcomed to participate in local events. Overall it was great experience and I could not recommend Denise enough as a workaway host :)Feedback

Hello! I spent two months working with Denise. It was a very good experience. It is true that you work hard, but the family is lovely, the work is enjoyable and the place is beautiful. If you want to disconnect and live surrounded by nature and calm, it is the perfect place. Near the hostel, there is a small and charming town, Dingle. I personally

I have only spend two and a half weeks working here, but I felt welcome from the first day I arrived. Denise, her husband, her children and even their pets made me feel like I am a part of their family. They tought me so much about the Irish culture, tradtions and the Irish language. I also liked the kind of work I did at the B&B, which included

During my time off I spent a lot of time exploring the whole area of the Dingle peninsula by foot or by bike, which I could borrow from Denise. Since Denise has been living in this area for a long time, she knows the surroundings quite well and showed me the things worth seeing, as well as explaining to me where I had to go to reach certain destinations. The area is by far one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen and has so much in store that is worth exploring. On some days Denise also took me to Dingle to help her with the shopping or to explore the town on my own.
What I really enjoyed about working at the B&B is that Denise is very clear with her instructions and that she showed me everything that is important to remember on my first day, so I got a very good introduction to her place. Another thing that I really loved about working at her B&B is that you get in touch with people from all over the world and therefore get to know more about their cultures.
The room I stayed at was next doors, and it was in the house of Denise's mother in law, who is such an adorable lady, she offered me to settle for some coffee or tea every day and I enjoyed chatting with her so much!
The whole family did not spare any effort to make me feel at home as much as possible. I learned so much about the Irish culture and their hospitility. Thank you so much for everything!

I stayed 6 weeks in May and June and from the first day it felt like a home away from home. Denise is a wonderful host and she and her family try to make your stay a great experience.
The B&B is located in a beautiful place on the Dingle Peninsula and from there you can explore the surrounding sights. My favourite by far was the day trip to the

Even if the weather wasn't good (which happens in Ireland), there are things to do. I now have a newfound love for Gaelic football and Nan (in whose house you're staying) is alway happy to chat with you. And Denise has a lot of tips on what to do, what to see and where to go!
The work itself isn't hard - just be prepared to to a variety of different things. It never gets boring! I helped with the guests (breakfast and cleaning the rooms) and in the afternoon welcomed the guests, showed them their rooms and made tea. You will have lots of opportunitues to practice your English (and learn some Irish!), but you'll need some solid foundations to interact with the guests.
Some days are really busy and some days will be quiet. But there's always time for a cuppa tea and a chat.
I really loved being there. I will miss the delicious dinners, the beautiful landscape, Denise and her lovely family and all the things that made this workaway experience truly extraordinary!!
Go raibh maith agat!
