  Description

  We are Juss (27, from Belgium) and Castille (28, from France). We bought a piece of forest in Portugal and try to make this place unique. The land is close to the ocean, to the village and to Lisbon. Our experiences in previous volunteering position decided us to do this project and we are really happy that we can now involve volunteers in our land!

  We learn so much since we start this project: about the nature, about creating and about us. We would love to have people to share some times and experiences with, as living here has been so far the most hectic and fun times of our lives. If you love to be active, to feel useful but also sometimes to chill you just land in paradise!
  
  We try to be as true as life can be over here so you will know what to expect but of course feel free to ask questions by message. Here, you will learn to reevaluate the value of things you have in your daily life and to enjoy the nature on his purest form, as we are working with limited ressources compared to a classic household (outside shower, electricity from solar panels and water from the rain, compostable toilets).
  
  This doesn't stop us from having amazing times inside the land -with the work but also pétanque games, cooking, cards games, chess,...- as well as outside, while going surfing at the beach, skating, spent some quality time in locals cafes and we hope you can enjoy this life too!

  Aide

  We mostly need help with gardening, but no specific skills is required, only motivation 🌞
  
  WHAT WE NEED:
  🏝️ Help us to turn our forest into a beautiful place inspired by permaculture, close to the beach and local typical Portuguese village
  🫶🏼 Learn to live differently, more simply and closer to nature in a unique atmosphere
  ⚡️We need people not scared of getting their hands dirty and with motivation that want to enjoy our land with us!
  ✨ Preferred stay is one week and with a couple or two friends during the summer
  
  THE PROGRAM:
  🕞 Help 3 hours a day in the morning (9h to 12h) or in the afternoon (16h to 19h), depending on the weather
  🌼 2 days off per week to enjoy the beach and the surroundings
  😎 No need for specific skills: we adapt to your abilities and wishes but you can see below some of the things we usually do, we mostly just need motivated people with a good mood and the rest will follow!
  
  THE TASKS:
  🪴 Helping with the earth, landscaping (clear and flat the ground, make pathways and stairs), creation of various permaculture designs, gardening (plant trees, grow vegetables and water them)
  🌳 Daily maintenance tasks on the land
  🐔 Take care of our chickens
  ➡️ Tasks will be assigned depending on your skills and abilities to make it enjoyable for everyone, plus you will work with us or under our supervision so given tasks will be clear and achievable
  ⚠️ The tasks ask some physical efforts as we mostly use manual tools and cary materials around the land that is quite big and with a lot of stairs!
  
  WHERE IS THE LAND?
  🏄🏼‍♂️ Close to the beach, surf spots and local village
  ☕️ Coffee shops and first shops are 15 minutes walking from the land
  
  TRANSPORTATION:
  🚲 Bicycle are included and you can go to the beach in 30 min or explore the area and villages
  🚌 Bus stop is 15 minutes walking by the land with direct connection to the beaches (10 min) and Lisbon (1h) for 3€
  🚗 Uber from our place to the beach is 7€ and 30€ from Lisbon airport
  ⛱️ Sometimes we go to the beach for surfing (during the week) or in Lisbon (in the weekend) so we can drop you there!
