*** As we receive more applications than we are able to answer, please only contact us if: ***

    - You are available for 3 months or more
    - Your schedule aligns with ours - we can only consider you if we have space in our calendar
    - You are older than 25 - part of the work here involves driving and our car insurance unfortunately only covers people of 25 years of age or older.

We live in the most beautiful part of Gozo, Malta. Here we run our freediving school and B&B; right by the cliffs and with the ocean at the end of our street. We have holistic backgrounds and visions to better the future together.
Our home consists of two villas, where we need help with everyday tasks; a 300 year old farmhouse and a beautiful guesthouse down the street from it. Our workaways will be offered minimum wage in exchange for approximately 25-30 hours of work per week.

Gozo is a small Island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. A great holiday destination for everyone, where nothing is far away. Gozo has a very interesting history, and with its historic sites, architecture, culture, entertainment, unique nature, beaches and incredible snorkel and dive sites, Gozo has it all.

We are originally from Denmark, but the freediving center and B&B are hubs for meeting new people from all over the world. There is ample opportunity to learn and practice different languages, and the possibility of cultural exchange and making new friends are a big part of the experience here.

You will have the opportunity to learn about local marine life and history and if you like yoga and meditation you may want to delve into this in the stretching and relaxation sessions provided by our freediving instructors.

Gozo is a small island so we enjoy an abundance of peace and quiet in combination with the hustle and bustle of our B&B where freedivers from all walks of life come through. The activities that the island offers therefore also varies with the season, the people and the weather. Which is what makes our little place so special.

We would like to invite life loving and self-motivated people to be part of our space. A very important part of our daily life is the fact that our guests and staff live side by side and share facilities and daily routines. This is an essential part of the community and the vision of the place, which means that the help from workaways is an invaluable asset to our place!

Our freediving school was established in 2008 by Danish freediver Jesper Stechmann who holds many national records and medals from several world championships. His experience with teaching, training and competing has made it an ideal place for freedivers from all parts of the world to visit.

In addition to the freediving center, we run a B&B and help from volunteers with cleaning, laundry and check-in and -out is essential.

    Daily life here:
The tasks consist of daily cleaning, laundry, tidying, shopping and maintenance in and around our two houses and the outside areas. We share a happy, heartfelt and warm atmosphere with our 2 young cats Sif and Mille contributing to the lively, loving and relaxed atmosphere. An interest in, or experience with, social media and capturing daily content to support our team is a plus!

Our days start at 7 am by preparing the house and the yard for the day. No previous experience is required, but you need to be a responsible, self-motivated person with an eye for details, who also cares for living in a clean and tidy home with a nice atmosphere. Cleanliness and tidiness are essential since the house is the base for our dive center and bed and breakfast. Our guests should feel welcome and accommodated in the surroundings of the house any time of the day and we do expect our workawayers to prioritise the work.

With that said, we also value the warm and friendly team spirit that we share, and invite you to take part in the activities going on around the house and on the island! The freediving community is special, and we're keen to share our way of life with you. If you're interested in meditation and yoga, you're welcome to learn from our experienced instructors, who organise stretching and breathing sessions most days, and we invite you to join the snorkeling trips if time, space and equipment availability permits it.
If you have a drivers' license, this will be very helpful as we get around by car on the island. We drive on the left side here, and only ask you to drive when you are comfortable doing this.

    Seasons:
Joining us in the high season vs. low season are different experiences. In the high season the place is an extrovert and bustling place. In the low season you will find the place quieter and more introvert.

In the high season (April-November) the houses are usually full of freedivers and travellers, and you can expect a lot of activity, both here and on the island in general. We have a lot of people coming through and naturally have more staff as well.

In the low season (November-March) we take advantage of the peace and quiet to check in with whatever needs fixing or changing. In these months you can expect fewer people around the house, rainy and windy weather, green and blossoming nature and less tourists on the island. However, we still need help around the house, and we share lovely experiences with each other and the people who stay with us.

    Hébergement

We offer a shared room with single beds (pillow, duvet/blanket, linen, towels and mosquito nets in the summer being provided). A curtain is installed between the beds for more privacy. There is a shared bathroom with a shower and washing machine as well as a shared kitchen with designated room in the fridge and a cooker available for cooking food. The facilities are shared with staff and guests.

In the yard we have a swimming pool that is used for swimming and training, you're welcome to use it as well.

Regarding meals: as we have begun offering minimum wage to our workaways we cannot cover the expenses of food as well. Make sure to have this in mind when applying, as we know this is not available for everyone financially.

We value the cultural exchange of having volunteers join our team and will invite you to take part in the activities going on around the house and on the island. The freediving community is very special and we host many people who have never experienced this sport before. We promise that your interest will be piqued and that you will have a unique volunteering experience with us!
