Description
Hi my name is Rob I am an environmental scientist (botanist and ecologist) and graphic artist. I love nature, making music and art and spending time in nature. My fiance Parisa and I recently bought a house in Greens Beach Tasmania. She is an architect and visits periodically as she has a job in Sydney. We are both interested in permaculture, sustainable design, urban design, native plants and wildlife. I’m living down here full time, working remotely and periodically travelling Tasmania in my campervan, or staying a couple of nights here and there in Launceston or other places with friends.
My vision here at greens beach is to have a welcoming home and garden for people and wildlife. I want to grow organic food, native plants and make nest boxes for animals, as well as enjoying nature with friends, old and new. Periodically we have friends and family visiting for beach time and adventures.
We have 4 bedrooms, 2 lounges, 2 bathrooms and a big shed. You can have your own guest room/s.
The house has panoramic views of the ocean and the nearby Narawntapu national park. The garden backs onto the forest fills up with Tasmanian pademelons and other wildlife at night and wrens and honeyeaters at daytime. There’s known populations of wombats, Eastern and Spotted Tailed Quolls, and Tassie Devils in the area. Across the river there’s a penguin colony. Theres hiking, boating and good food and cafes nearby by walking or car.
We will be developing wildlife friendly native gardens here, some food production and setting up a small workshop and ceramics studio to make nestboxes and shelter for wildlife in this garden, and for others.
Looking for help doing native and food gardening and developing the workshop/ceramics studio space.Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

Happy to fully involve visitors in social and community/cultural events in the local area and just spend time adventuring and visiting the spectacular nature of Tasmania.
I previously taught international students about Australian ecology and wildlife, if you’re keen to learn about nature just ask me.
Always happy to hear travellers stories and learn about their lives. So look forward to talking and getting to know you!Projets impliquant des enfants

There’s lots of wildlife here including wallabies, quolls, bandicoots, wrens and honeyeaters and I want to support them.
Happy to share any skills or knowledge I have such as plant and wildlife identification, organic food growing/composting and permaculture . Can also teach ukulele, guitar and graphic art. Happy to learn what you have to teach.Langues

Autres infos...
The beach is less than 10 min walk and there are coastal walking trails into Narawntapu national park. There’s no public transport here but there’s a bus from launceston to beauty point and Beaconsfield which are fifteen minutes drive from here where I can pick you up and drop you off if you don’t have a car. Or I can sometimes pick you up from or drop you to Launceston. I go to launceston once a week or so and am happy to take you in to see the place and visit cafes and go see music acts or go to art galleries sometimes.
