  Description

  We are a community project based on permaculture, deep ecology and agro - ecology principles. The project started few years ago but since 2016 we're in this valley, home, in the Park of Madonie.
  We are involved in several small project and activities.
  We live in community producing food for our consume and some surplus. We're restoring a land abandoned for years and every step is a new step. We produce extra virgin olive oil and some products of natural cosmethics with officinals plants based on olive oil. We're an association, organising and promoting cultural events based on a culture of sustainability. We promote also trekkings in the Park, host workshop and retreat on yoga and health ecological and spititual practices.
  We're part of sicilian permaculture network.

  Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre

  We're an intentional community based on people from different part of Italy with manys and different experiences in our background. We live in Sicily, cradle of Mediterranean Sea. We live in the special mountains of Madonie Regional Park, in the countryside between many small historical villages.
  Volunteering with us means meeting intercultural living, go further in community living - observing and learning from each other -, gardening and bothanics, permaculture principles applied in our doings, cooking and learning basic habit of living in the wood.

  According to the season there are many different tasks, so it is asked to help us with whatever we are doing (taking care of the garden, cooking, cleaning, harvesting hazelnuts or olives...), accordng also the needs of the moment and the skills of the volunteer

  Hébergement

  We live in a great wood with running water through streams at 800 m.
  Summer is great ... the other seasons, too ...
  Since our hosting is in open area you are asked to come prepared for mountain experience. Some umidity is there and cold can arrive in night time.
  We have a tent and an area dedicated to our volunteers ... but if you bring your tent is great!
  Toilets and showers are in the main house.
  
  We have a nice garden which provide part of the veggies we eat. Other parts of our diet come from the same territory of Madonie mostly. Local, organic food supporting local economies and practices. The community all is asked to partecipate in garden activities and food preparation and cleaning. We use to eat together for our meals ... exceptions for some of us working elsewhere. The meal shared (breakfast, lunch, dinner) is a basic organic meal. If someone would like to have special things (cheese, wine ...), we can arrange on the site...

  We live in the countryside of Polizzi Generosa (PA) at 800 on the sea level.
  The town is 5 km away and you can get there bu 2 buses per day from Palermo or Cefalù in one hour.
  From our place you can get to the top of Madonie Mountains, up to 1900 m ang trekking - hiking - climbing are all possible activities you can do enjoying the mountain.
  Polizzi Generosa is one of the 21 small towns of Madonie area, all nice and historical villages with traditions typical of this area that you can visit.
  The sea nearest is in Cefalù, 1 hour from here.
