1 month till open- we need friends to help up in the Sierra Nevada at 1220m above Santa Marta and the Caribbean cost, Colombia
Our home here is the fulfillment of a dream that started 10 years ago when my wife Juliana and I first came to this magical mountains on Colombia's Caribbean coast. Our property is located at 1,220 meters, somewhere between the snow and sea while immersed in the Sierra Nevada Rain forest.
We want to share our incredible place with those who wants, or need to have a break, so we're transforming our home into a cafe, restaurant, lodge which we hope will make a lots of happy travelers. We've made lots of progress but still have a lots of details (big and small) that needs fixing before we can open.
we have 5 paid staff We're looking for a carpenter, cooks, construction helper, "permacultors", :) and anyone who would enjoy helping us to get this place to open on the 10th of April 20. In exchange, we'll offer all we can to make this sharing experience a great one while also enjoying the lush surroundings, inspiring sunsets, and delicious home-cooked vegetarian food.

The Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta is a truly unique place in the world. It's the tallest coastal mountain range in the world, with Colombia's highest snowy peak (Pico Cristobal Colón at 5,700 masl) looming less than 40km away from the Caribbean Sea. Our property is located up the mountain from the town of Minca, at 1,200 metres above the coastal city of Santa Marta, which can be seen from our property. On clear days, you can see boats sailing in and out of the port while toucans and macaws flying the skies over the dense jungle. Sunsets are truly magnificent here and every evening offers a different light show as the sun sinks behind the Caribbean sea and the jungle prepares for night.
We offer a friendly and flexible work environment and are looking for people who are ready to work but are also interested in the social and cultural exchange, and are interested in the tourism industry.
To assist with the ton of wood work needed to finalize interior and exterior pieces such as doors, accessories, lamps, furnishments and more.... all the tools are here so will make this easier, and we are passionate about wood too!! Imagination and wood magic is required.

A single volunteer or a couple would have a private room with a shared bathroom in the main house. There is hot water, internet, drinking water, and three meals a day. Additional drinks (beer, fruit juicies) will be charged. Volunteers can buy anything else they need in the town of Minca or the city of Santa Marta.
If you're tired of relaxing in our hammocks, enjoying the view, birdwatching, and chatting to travellers passing by, you can explore more of the mountains and say hi to our neighbours. There are a few hostels and cafés in the area if you want a change of scenery and you can also hike down to the creek or up the mountain within our property for great views and cool natural showers. If you like nature, you won't feel bored here!
