Description
We are a family of four. There is Mathieu, firefighter, likes the evenings between friends with fresh beer! Sport and card games. Livia, a nurse, enjoys outdoor activities, nature, deco and graphic novels. Lou, 10 years old, likes to ride horseback, playing piano and passionate about ancient Egypt. Suzon, 7 years old, enjoys doing manual activities, playing board games and creating worlds throughout the house.
I do not say everything you will learn to know us...
Without forget our wonderful Corto, our dog, he is super friendly, his only fault is to ask too many caresses!
For eleven months we travel across the United States, as a workaway and on our return we wish to continue the adventure on the other side.
If you want, don't hesitate to check our profile workaway as a volunteer, there is pictures of our house :
By becoming hosts, we want to continue this exchange of culture and life that we have been living for a year. It is important for us this notion of exchange, you will really be a part of our family. If you're just looking for a place to sleep and do your laundry, it's not here!
If you are interested: send us an email, tell us why you are interested in France and this region? What makes you want to meet us? And especially what you expect from the stay with us, do you have particular expectations? What kind of volunteering do you care about?
The main element for everything to work is communication, so be honest and especially open!Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

We live in the center of a typical village in the north of France, Rieulay, we have a lot of green trail around us along the 'scarpe': a beautiful river, we are just next to a lac with a lot of aquatic activities like canoe, paddle... we have a lot of forest and we are just in a natural reserve, in our private pond you can see a lot of species like kingfisher, heron... We live next to Douai a nice little medieval town. We are a 20 minutes by train from Douai to Lille: a big Flemish style city, there are wonderful museums of all kinds, shops, "estaminets" everywhere in our region, famous for the "miner" cities, many sites with artifacts from the Second World War. We are one hour from the great beaches of the north, we can do sand yachting, kite flying ... A car is not essential everything can be done by bike and train that we can lend you. But a car is still advising sometimes the weather here is capricious ..
We have also a lot of museums around us like leeward (mines) and 'le louvre' de lens.
We live in the countryside so lovers of nature will find their happiness there are many hiking trails, especially the Tour de France passes by there.
Depending on what you like and our time off we will have the pleasure of making you discover our region and our way of life. Depending on what you want and what you like. We are very flexible.Projets impliquant des enfants

You can help us in many areas depending on your skills. We can discuss it together beforehand. We have a big property of 10 acres, with a lot of trees and a orchard and vegetable garden , so we always need help for gardening. We built a house so there is a lot of building work, so someone with some knowledge of renovation work or gardening is welcome. Sometimes it will be good to have a moment with our children. And the others, well, you are welcome too, the purpose is to share and there are many other way where you can help us, we are open and curious.
