  Description

  My name is Nathasha. I am passionate about providing my guests a memorable and genuine experience. My goal is to provide a quality service and of course an extremely comfortable stay for my customers that exceeds their expectations.
  
  Our 10-room Hotel located in the historical city of Polonnaruwa, is surrounded by beautiful trees and overlooks a calm lake called Parakrama Samudraya. We offer friendly service and a relaxing atmosphere, perfect for a getaway to recharge. Three-fourths of the property boasts breathtaking lake views, where guests can unwind and reconnect with nature. Sometimes, elephants can even be seen near the fence! Bird lovers will enjoy watching more than 20 different bird species fly around, especially during the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. We offer modern comforts along with traditional Sri Lankan hospitality, guaranteeing our customers a relaxing and memorable stay.
  
  We employ 6-8 local staff members whom are responsible for operating the hotel. Their tasks include preparing meals, cleaning the rooms, kitchen, front office, accounting and general management etc. Our volunteer positions are aiming to be a helping hand to our existing full-time positions where local skills are lacking and to offer the volunteers an insight into the life and culture of Sri Lanka. We hope to give this opportunity to a maximum of two volunteers at a time.
  
  Together with myself, the staff members and our Volunteers we want to create a unique hotel for our guests. Hope to see you soon.

  Volunteers can learn about our Sri culture and we are very happy to teach them about Sri Lanka (Religion,food and Language etc). We can teach you how to cook Local food whenever possible. We are also interested in learning and getting to know the volunteers culture and Language.
  So we would like to warmly welcome them to stay in our beautiful place and relax by the Lake. Here you will have time to work online or really disconnect from the hectic life and instead connect with nature. I hope we can give you an unforgettable time while you help us build and grow our small business.

  We're looking for a positive, energetic person to join our team and help us keep the good vibes flowing, ensuring every guest feels right at home! If you're social, creative, love meeting new people, and enjoy a mix of day-to-day tasks with fun event planning, this might be your perfect fit. You'll also be key in helping our staff engage, build teamwork, and deliver their best.
  
  Your Main Contributions:
  
  -Vibe Creator & Social Host: Be the heart of the hotel. Greet and meet guests, help them feel welcome and at home, and actively foster connections among travelers. Your friendly, present energy is the most valuable thing you can bring!
  
  -Team Engagement & Leadership: Actively engage with our local staff, help build strong teamwork, and motivate them to deliver their best service & overseeing the team, monitoring their duties, and ensuring a high standard of work and guest service.
  
  -Activity Planning & Promotion: Plan and host fun, activities that involve both guests and staff (like movie nights, yoga, board game challenges, local cultural classes, or city trips). You will also be in charge of promoting all the other activities we offer to ensure guests have an amazing stay.
  
  -Daily Hotel Support: Assist with general day-to-day tasks, like keeping common areas tidy and organized.
  
  -Admin Help: Assist with basic hotel administration (check-ins, reservations, providing information).
  
  -Social Media & Content: Create and update engaging content for platforms like Instagram and TikTok, including photos and video clips (big bonus if you have experience!).
  
  We're flexible and open to utilizing your unique skills and capacity, whether it's gardening, accounts, or other areas! Come help us build a welcoming, beautiful experience for all our guests.

  Hébergement

  Accommodation includes a bed, an attached bathroom, and a fan. Please note that you might have to share the room with another Workawayer (might or might not). Only fan is available. Clean linens are provided for your stay. Guess what!! They can also use our swimming pool. We will offer all 3 meals for our workawayers.

  We're a small hotel with 10 rooms in Polonnaruwa, a beautiful city filled with history. We're near a big lake called Parakrama Samudraya, and many of our rooms have amazing views of the lake. We're looking for friendly people to help us out with things like cleaning, maintaining the property, promoting the hotel, increasing sales, maintaining quality, and welcoming guests etc.
  
  Here's what you'll get:
  
  2/3 free meals and a place to stay in our hotel. (with attached bathroom)
  Time to explore the city and the lake. You can even see elephants sometimes!
  Learn about Sri Lankan culture and meet new friends.
  
  We might be doing some small improvements around the hotel, like fixing things in the kitchen or bathrooms. We apologize if this causes any disturbance, but we're always working to make our hotel even better.
