  Description

  British/American couple require help in Allier, Auvergne. We have a medieval chateau type residence with 6 hectares. Very peaceful and idyllic. 10 minutes to nearest town/supermarket. We need help with gardening; mowing/trimming/weeding, tidying up, walled vegatable garden, diy jobs and possibly assisting our contractor with the bigger jobs. Help with connemara ponies/ experience with horses is an advantage. We have fully renovated the caretaker cottage which is 2 bedrooms/1 bathroom. As we are not here all the time we need someone thoroughly reliable and responsible and kind to animals. Good communication is essential. We will not have time to be very sociable or be eating together etc hence why this is a paid position. You will be responsible for your own food/meals.
  
  Would suit a couple or single person.
  
  • You need to have your own transport. Public transport is not sufficient here.
  • You must have at least one feedback on Workaway
  • You must have an EU residency or passport
  • Over 21 only
  • No children allowed for safety reasons (machinery/animals etc)
  
  We are looking for people who enjoy working outside and are happy with quite physical work.

  Moulins and Montlucon are all within 30 minutes to one hour drive. Clermont Ferrand and Spa town of Vichy 45 minutes drive. Train from Moulins station (25 minutes) to Paris direct in just over 2 hours.
  English is not widely spoken here, so a good opportunity to practice French!
  We have a part time worker here (english / french spoken) who is an experienced construction worker helping with bigger jobs, patios/dry wall etc so experience could be gained assisting him also.

  Aide

  Gardening help under owners direction and generally a helping hand around the place. Walled garden with large greenhouse so planting and clearing beds etc. Mowing garden/ mulching/planting /tidying.
  We have 2/3 ponies, if you have experience, help with their basic care.
  
  Minimum wage position. Accomodation and utilities included. Provide your own food.

  Strictly non smoking in the accomodation or the any of the grounds. A dedicated smoking area next to cottage is in place for safety reasons.

  Small dogs that are quiet are acceptable. But would need to always be on a lead when outside due to ponies. Neighbours have cattle and sheep in the adjoining fields which must not be chased.
