  Description

  I am Scott, I am living off grid on 6 acres of land on a clear blue lake in northern Ontario. I operate an Adventure Retreat business.
  
  During early spring and the fall we build new additions to the land. During the summer we are open and require a chef & a labour position.

  Real backwoods life ;) Its a quiet space to be with nature while not working. You can find me doing yoga and meditation outside of work.
  
  On site there is the opportunity to hike (3km of trails), paddleboard, create more hiking trails, use the boat to fish (lake trout), explore the lake (20km long), practice yoga, meditation.
  
  I would like skilled individuals who have experience living in the forest, can drive boats, however with eager and open minded individuals that feel this is a good fit I can instruct on building, mechanical systems, boats etc

  (1)-Between May 7-June 14, 2 weeks, a mechanical individual to work on plumbing and electrical
  (1)-July 26-August 22- Qualified Chef, well paid, resume and references required.
  (1)-July 26-August 22- General labour (1) maintenance, firewood, cleaning, laundry, boating supplies in and grocery runs
  (2)-Sept 6-Oct 4 Carpenter or creative, building a funky cabin, floating cabin, or other
  
  Outside of these times, if you resonate strongly with my profile, and possess building skills and consider yourself creative/artistic please message and we may have opportunities to hire you for new cottages/creative accommodations.

  Hébergement

  Bring your own tent or contact us and we can make arrangemnts. Outside of our open season our clamping tents may be available. There is a 432sf cabin where we will make meals and there is a shower, outhouse as toilet. I will provide food and we will take turns preparing meals and make dinners together. Diet consisting of wild meat and dairy from nearby farms, locally foraged foods where possible.

  We are located a 20 minute boat ride over the lake and about 1 hour car driving from Kenora, Ontario, the closest town. Helpers will have access to a boat/car once they have proven competency and received instruction.
  
  In the small town across the lake (Nestor Falls) there are restaurants, bars, convenience stores, hiking trails, sports fields.
  
  Kenora (1-1/2 hours away) has larger stores, events etc.

  For the spring semester we are looking to focus on building, that said if you are ambitious and have evening work there is space.
