Description
HI! We are Rani (dog) Agni (cat) and Francesca (me). We live in the beautiful and green Alcantara Valley, at the foot of Mamma Etna and a few steps from the river Alcantara.
I am originally from northern Italy and after graduating I traveled for a few years mainly in Asia, fascinated by the incredible culture and philosophy of those places and travelling, travelling, in 2013 I discovered Sicily, immediately falling in love with the Island and finally feeling at home.
Last year, I fulfilled my dream of living in nature by purchasing this beautiful land, full of olive trees, prickly pears and fruit trees.
Trying to live in harmony with Nature and all hers beings, listening to hers cycles, not damaging the ecosystem that surrounds us and creating the lowest possible energy impact, I would like to create an eco-sustainable project where we can share knowledge and experiences, a place of exchange of beauty, culture and art, where we can remember our roots.
Anyone who feels the same call and wants to help me make this dream come true is welcome!
At the moment I live in a wooden house with an external dry toilet made in ecobuilding.
I can offer a place in a tent and meals cooked with love, (I love cooking ;) !)
The project is still at the beginning and wonderfully in progress, you could help me with many small activities such as maintaining the vegetable garden, fruit trees, planting trees, sowing, pruning, grafting, harvesting and processing, and in constructions with natural materials, from restoring a ruin, create common spaces, small arrangements to make everything more welcoming and enjoyable for everyone!
Ciao! Siamo Rani (cana) Agni (gatto) e Francesca (io). Viviamo nella bellissima e verde Valle dell’Alcantara, ai piedi di Mamma Etna e a due passi dal fiume.
Sono originaria del nord Italia e dopo essermi laureata ho viaggiato qualche anno principalmente in Asia affascinata dall’incredibile cultura e filosofia di quei luoghi e viaggiando viaggiando, nel 2013 ho scoperto la Sicilia, innamorandomene immediatamente e sentendomi finalmente a casa.
L’anno scorso, ho coronato il sogno di vivere in natura, acquistando questa bellissima terra, piena di alberi di olivo, fichi d’india ed alberi da frutto.
Cercando di vivere in armonia con la natura e tutti i suoi esseri, ascoltando i suoi cicli, non danneggiando l’ecosistema che ci circonda e creando il minor impatto energetico possibile, vorrei creare un progetto ecosostenibile dove poter condividere conoscenze ed esperienze, un luogo di scambio di bellezza, di cultura e arte, dove poterci ricordare delle nostre Radici.
Chiunque senta lo stesso richiamo e ha voglia di aiutarmi a rendere manifesto questo sogno, è il benvenuto!
Al momento vivo in una casetta di legno con bagno a secco esterno fatto in bioedilizia.
Posso offrire posto in tenda e pasti cucinati con amore, adoro cucinare!
Il progetto è ancora all'inizio e meravigliosamente in divenire, potreste aiutarmi in tanti lavoretti come il mantenimento dell'orto, degli alberi da frutto, piantare alberi, seminare, potare, innestare, raccolta e trasformazione e nelle costruzioni in materiali naturali, dal restaurare un rudere, creare spazi comuni, a piccole sistemazioni per rendere tutto più accogliente e fruibile.

Depending on your interest and curiosity you might learn how to grow your own organic food, how to harvest, cook, transform and preserve the fruits and veggies that the soil offers us and how to forage the edible and medicinal wild plants that grow abundantly in this area. Build and renovate with various ecobuilding techniques and put into practice permaculture concepts to transform and evolve this project together.
You can also enjoy the beauty of the area in your free time: swim in the gorgeous ponds of Alcantara river, a few steps from home, hike on Etna, discover the archeological features in the surrounding area, and the sea is just half an hour's drive away.
You may visit the pretty medieval town of Castiglione di Sicilia, immerse yourself in the life of the place and discover its traditions while having a granita!!!
I am an artist and together we could create beauty!
A seconda del vostro interesse e curiosità avrete la possibilità di imparare come coltivare un orto naturale, come raccogliere, cucinare, trasformare e conservare i frutti che la terra ci offre e come riconoscere le erbe spontanee edibili e medicinali che crescono abbondanti in questo territorio. Costruire e rinnovare con varie tecniche di bioedilizia e mettere in pratica concetti di permacultura per trasformare e far evolvere insieme questo progetto.
Inoltre potete godere della bellezza del territorio, con bagni al fiume Alcantara, a pochi passi da casa, passeggiate sull'Etna, scoprire le testimonianze archeologiche presenti nei dintorni, ed il mare è a solo mezz'ora di macchina. Visitare il grazioso paese medievale di Castiglione di Sicilia, immergervi nella vita del luogo e scoprirne le tradizioni mentre vi gustate una granita!
Sono un artista ed insieme potremmo creare bellezza!

Hébergement
At the moment I can offer accommodation in a tent, you can camp on the property or in summer sleep in a hammock under the olive trees.
In the land there is electricity and fresh, drinkable water. A compost toilet, outdoor shower with hot water.
There is an external kitchen for the warmer periods and one inside the house.
Al momento posso offrire alloggio in tenda, potete campeggiare nella proprietà o in estate dormire su un amaca sotto gli ulivi.
Nel terreno c'è elettricità ed acqua fresca e potabile. Una compost toilette, doccia esterna con acqua calda.
C'è una cucina esterna per i periodi più caldi ed una interna alla casetta.
