  Description

  My name is Caterina, and I live on this hillside 4 km from the Ionian Sea and along the slopes of Mount Etna. I fell in love with this place when, one summer evening, I saw the red moon over the sea, a wonderful, unforgettable sight. I love living in the countryside and being a farmer in my spare time. At first, about twenty years ago, I took care of everything myself: 5,000 metres of land planted with orange trees, olive trees on one side, and then a vegetable garden, chickens, geese, dogs and cats. Today I need help, and since I am convinced that hospitality is a form of cultural exchange, I enjoy working with Workawayers. I am a pragmatic person and my guests will feel at home because I always try to make them feel comfortable. Mine is not a farm; I live in the countryside by choice and the little I grow is for myself and my family.
  
  Sono Caterina, vivo su questo pezzo di collina a 4 km dal mare Ionio e lungo i pendii dell'Etna. Mi innamorai di questo luogo quando una sera d'Estate vidi la luna rossa sul mare, uno spettacolo meraviglioso, indimenticabile. Amo vivere in campagna e fare nel tempo libero la contadina. all'inizio circa vent'anni fa mi occupavo da sola di tutto: 5000 metri di terra coltivata ad arance, da un lato ho messo a dimora alberi di ulivo e poi orto, galline, oche, cani, gatti. Oggi ho bisogno di un aiuto e siccome sono convinta che l'ospitalità è una forma di scambio culturale mi piace fare esperienze con i Workawayer. Sono una persona pragmatica e i miei ospiti si sentiranno a casa loro anche perchè cerco sempre di metterli a loro agio. La mia non è un'azienda agricola, vivo in campagna per scelta di vita e quel poco che coltivo serve per me e per i miei familiari.

  Aide

  I need practical help in the countryside starting from the end of February : clearing weeds from around the trees, pruning collecting firewood, and stacking it, ecc.
  If you are skilled, there's also some finishing work to do in the small house where you'll be staying.
  If you work in the countryside and take care of my 2 dogs and 20 chickens, i'll offer you room and board.
  If you prefer to do only pet sitting , i can offer accomodation only.
  The countryside has a lovely view of the Ionian sea and Etna mountain, which makes working outdoors very enjoyable.

  The accommodation will be in a small, new apartment of about 30 square meters, with a bathroom with shower and sink. Only active people are welcome.

  For transportation, a bus passes 50 meters from the house at least four times a day to the nearest central town, which also has a train station, and many other buses, and you can also reach the mountain villages on Mount Etna. A mountain bike is available, but please note that we are in a hilly area with several climbs. Preferably non-smokers. I greatly appreciate loyalty and proactiveness. This is my motto: "You feel at home here, but you should treat your home as your own."
  
  
  per i trasporti a 50 metri da casa passa la corriera almeno 4 volte al giorno per andare nella città più vicina e centrale fornita anche di stazione dei treni e tanti altri bus e si può andare nei paesini di montagna sull'Etna. C'è la disponibilità di una bici mountain bike ma bisogna tenere presente che siamo in collina con parecchie salite. preferibilmente non fumatori. Apprezzo molto la lealtà e l'intraprendenza propositiva. Questo è il mio motto:"Da me si sta come a casa propria ma si deve tenere la casa come propria".
