  Description

  *CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR A COUPLE TO HELP US FOR THE BUSY SEASON*
  We are a small over water hostel on the island of Bastimentos, one of the biggest and chilled islands of the famous Bocas del Toro archipelago. We offer rooms with private or shared bathrooms, 2 shared kitchens, a shared living area (with hammocks), and a bar. You can jump in the water and swim right from our dock! We also offer tours to our guests all around the archipelago that you can take with a discount on your free days.
  
  Please look at our calendar to see when we need volunteers, and also please bear in mind that:
  *️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️ We prefer couples who are mature and self motivated.
  *️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️*️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️ Having a computer / tablet is a plus
  
  *️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️*️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️*️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️ We need people who are very comfortable with computers, and great with guests. Experience working with booking systems, websites and online marketing is a huge help.

  If you've ever wanted to live on a small Caribbean island, this is the place. Learn the local language (Guari Guari) and get to know the characters that live here. The island is small so for sociable people there are lots of opportunities to meet people and enjoy local life.

  Aide

  You will spend most of the time helping with reception, doing check in/ check out, managing all our online partner booking sites, answering all emails and reviews/feedback, lead social media updates across all platforms, and making sure our guests are informed and having a great time!
  
  Volunteers will help at the hostel in coordination with the owner and local staff. The hostel is a local of Bastimentos and is a school teacher. He is in and out of the hostal during the day so he needs people who can work independently without constant monitoring.
  
  I'm currently employing 4 local people.
  
  1 at reception
  2 for cleaning
  1 boat captain
  
  We need enthusiastic volunteers who are self-motivated, mature and responsible!
  
  Duties Include:
  1. Hostel management.
  You will assist the staff to ensure they are on top of reception duties, accepting and keeping track of payments, helping guests and managing all of our online tasks.
  This includes updating our online partner booking sites (including promotions), answering all emails and reviews/feedback, full management of social media updates, etc.
  This is an area in which the hostel owner really relies on volunteers so you must be experienced using technology and if you have any specific skills in website maintenance, SEO, technology problem solving let us know what you can do!
  
  2. Guest relations
  We are looking for personable people who can talk to anyone and offer advice and information about the island as well as offer tours and generally anything our guests need.
  
  As well as the above mentioned tasks, anything else you see during the day that needs to be done to make the hostel run smoothly! We love volunteers with initiative, we are looking for people that can get things done and problem solve when left alone. This is not a party hostel but a relaxed hostel!
  
  Accommodation is provided.
  
  Of course we understand this is a workaway and you are also here to enjoy the beauty of Bocas Del Toro! So in your free time, swing in our hammocks, swim right in front of the hostel, kayak (for free!), explore the island or sunbathe on our nearby beautiful beaches...

  Hébergement

  We offer volunteers a private room for 2 people (a double bed for couples), with private bathroom and a fan. The room will either be located on the property or at the hostel owner's spare house next door.
  
  You get the opportunity to tag-along on tours (availability dependent). You can use our kayaks and snorkels on your free time!

  Bastimentos is home to a National Marine Park, meaning all around the island you will find sights and wildlife you wouldn't believe. Sloths live in the trees, Red Frogs jump around the rainforest, and the water is crystal clear perfect for snorkeling.
