We are looking for persons who are kind, respectful, have positive attitude and enjoy the rural and sustainable life.
About Me and the Place:
I’m Mat. I’m passionate about plants and teach gardening and plant propagation. I’m also involved in social projects to rewild urban spaces on the island with the local community. I love culture, art, science, nature, swimming, hiking, and meeting new people to learn from their experiences and mindset.
I live with other family members in a house built by my great-great-grandparents on a lava field in the late 1800s. We welcome help to keep our field and home tidy and in good conditions. -

You will learn how my family adapted to live in a lava field, and the island culture of the volcanic rural life. You will also learn from our sustainable life style as we live in the desert, and we try to be very respectful with the environment and natural resources. Our house is powered only by the Sun.

Aide
I welcome help from a person (or better 2 if you come with your friend or partner) to keep tidy and in good conditions the house and the lava field. We have an agreement with a local NGO to develope a small botanic garden in our field, so sometimes you can also help with this garden.
Hours of help needed: 3h / day, 5 days a week. -

One private room with 2 single beds next to each other, a table, a chair, shelves and a place for hanging clothes.
You can use the shared kitchenette, bathroom and garden. These are shared with my family (me, sister and niece). -

The place is located in a small village on a lava field, in 'La Geria´ - the main vineyard area of the island and where there are many wineries. The nearest town with all the services is 3 km away, San Bartolomé.
The public transport is not very good in the village but you can take the bus sometimes. You can also do hitch-hiking or walk if you prefer. Sometimes you can get a ride with me between the village and the capital town. We are in the geografical center of the island.
You can do many things on the island, I will advise you depending on your interests. You can go to the beach, practice water sports, hiking, etc. -
