One word to describe my first workawayer experience in Vicky's family: GRATEFUL.
For all the duration of my stay I've been treated as family!! The work was just the right amount and always agreed upon together to make sure I was comfortable with it all. After the working hours I was free to decide if being part of the afternoon activities or
… read more having time for myself. I would always recommend this family to anyone: they're kind, lovely, funny and extremely welcoming. I'll miss them all very much.
A little advice: Matha is a beautiful countryside but it's a bit far from tourism. I'd recommend going with your car if you have one, but don't worry if not Vicky and Chris will do their best to help you around.Laissé par l'hôte pour le workawayer (Benedetta)
Benedetta arrived and immediately settled in our family. She is a delightful, self starting individual. Nothing was too much trouble and she often started the job, or pre-empted what needed to be done. Her cooking was great and she was very good with the children and our pets. She also did gardening and household organisation, tidying, cleaning
… read more etc. I would highly recommend her, only I would prefer to keep her for myself-she is a diamond! Anyone who meets this lady is a very lucky person. Thank you Benny, you saved me!

My stay with Vicky's family was very pleasant. They always make sure that you are comfortable. I stayed in their 'Chambre d'hôtes' rooms which were very comfortable. They had French English immersion students and they would take them to various activities around Matha. It was very nice of them to take me along with the students. I have visited
… read more Cognac, La Rochelle and Angouleme during my stay.
Luckily, the family was very English, which enabled me to taste many English Foods and have a good cultural experience :) At dinners, family members would tease each other and sometimes I was about to burst into laughter. Note that, if you don't have a good level of English, you may miss out on so much of it.
The assigned tasks were not very hard. Sometimes, I even felt like I owed them more for the incredible hospitality. The only thing is most jobs were outside and the weather in that region could get very hot in August. Be prepared for that.
I recommend this place to anybody who wants to have a lovely family stay experience.

Natasa and Max are pleasant, hardworking genuine people. They listened to my requests and were able to work independently. They worked hard and were very grateful for the accommodation and food and opportunity to spend time with us. They were interesting people with lots of great stories and were very patient and kind with the children and
… read more animals. I would thoroughly recommend them and hope they come back here too-they were brilliant!

I don't even know where to start... We spent a week with this lovely family, whose hospitality and friendliness is everything we could have wished for. We really enjoyed having nice conversations and getting to know their lifestyle, and we were happy to help with everything that needed to be done around the house. The work was nothing too hard or
… read more heavy, just some general maintenance, some gardening and we loved to cook for everyone as well.
To workawayers: We would genuinely recommend them to everyone, enjoy the countryside and their beautiful place!
This was not the last time we have seen each other!
