  Description

  We are a single mom by choice + my 8-year-old son, living by the sea in Sicily.
  We are looking for:
  - 1 female volunteer or
  - a Single Mom + child
  3 weeks minimum (up to months) - our availabilities:
  - from march to mid april
  - mid may to mid june
  - from mid july
  
  We’re a small but lively family of two. My son is 8, curious, social and full of energy. I work and I manage the house, and I’m currently trying to become a runner (slow but determined!).
  We live in a seaside town in Sicily — simple life, local atmosphere, beach walks, real Italian rhythm.
  We’ve already hosted 7 wonderful guests, and one of them loved it so much she came back three times — all the way from Mexico.
  
  What we’re looking for light help with:
  - decluttering and organizing spaces
  - small household tasks
  - sharing daily life
  
  This is not heavy tasks. It’s more about collaboration, presence and mutual exchange.
  We’re looking for girls/women only at the moment — this is simply what makes my son feel most comfortable in this phase of his growth.

  I'm also an old member of couchsurfing (before it became a mess... ask me for references).
  We're hosting since november 2023, some decided to come back and we're building very strong connections.

  FAMILIES: I cannot accept families, no couples etc (EXCEPT single mom+kid for short periods)
  
  I'm looking for someone fluent in English (and Spanish or French would be a bonus).
  
  So i'm looking for a warm and lovely person who wants to feel at home here :D + help me keeping the house clean, like in every family. The cultural exchange and hosting the workawayer as part of the family is very important for us. We're super respectful of your privacy!
  
  We've hosted au pairs and workawayers in the past, but at the moment we’re more open to flexible, light-support exchanges rather than full childcare.
  
  The help we’re looking for can include:
  
  - decluttering and organizing spaces around the house
  - light cleaning or home maintenance
  - preparing simple, healthy meals
  - spending some relaxed time with my child (not as a main responsibility)
  
  What matters most to us is sharing daily life, cultural exchange and speaking English together, in a calm and respectful way.
  
  I'm super open to a lot of possibilities.
  
  My kid often comes to my job place, so everything is super flexible from my side.
  
  I’m currently training for a half marathon, so a few times per week (around 3) I may go for a run early in the morning.
  During that time, I simply need another adult in the house to be present.
  I usually run before sunrise, while you’re still sleeping, so this doesn’t take away from your time and doesn’t reduce the time I spend with my child during the day.
  
  Our first step is always a questionnaire, then a video call and then I'll put you in contact with some previous workawayer just for references :)

  I'd love to speak english at home and help my son (8yo) to learn from a mothertongue. But now he is in love with spanish language, he speaks spanglish! And french is our next goal! He is a wonderful teacher of italian language!

  Hébergement

  Single room in our modern flat at an acceptable walking distance to the center and to the seaside (1 minute walking to bakery/shops, 7 minutes to the seaside). Mazara is very safe.
  Smoking is forbidden and I'm looking for a no-smoker (NO WAY this person can smoke outside, no smooooking person)
  
  My fridge will be full of many things, pasta, meat, fish and vegetables. You can use the kitchen (and the fridge) as you like. Or we could cook together!

  I run a blog (ask me for the address) and this environment is very safe and nice!
  Our town is full of restaurants, nice beaches and also a couple of wonderful spots for kite and windsurfing. We have a nice seaside and lots of tourists during the summer. If you want to go for running or walking, Mazara is just perfect. Super safe even at 5am (when I go to run) or 11pm :D

  No problem, we have a good wifi connection and we can find a place where you can work with no distractions. I don't work from home. Some workawayers were attending to online classes (university)
