  Description

  We are Remote Family owned mountain lodge nested above the historic Onsen town of Nozawa Onsen. We believe in a strong community approach where everyone staying assist with day to day tasks of the lodge's running. We are focused on Primally providing wholesome organic (when possible) meals and are conscious of the environment and our surroundings.
  
  We are all Australian and live in Sydney, when not spending our time in Japan at our two lodges during the northern hemisphere winter ski season. We do not have paying guest and the only guest staying are family and friends.
  
  The logistics of being situated halfway up a mountain are at times challenging, but are always rewarding and that is why we value the space which we are inviting you to share with us.
  
  It is advised that if you wish to apply that you would have some basic on snow skills such as skiing/snowboarding /climbing (or just be really keen to learn!!!), having a valid international drivers licence is a must for both driving the snowmobiles and car .
  
  Your own personal Ski pases for the resort will be provided along with all meals and any basic work gear (gumboots, gloves)
  
  You will need to come with your own warm weather gear (temperatures can get down to -20 degrees celsius ) and goggles and your own skisnowboard equipment

  We run a large sustainable permaculture farm in Australia, so are very hands on people, being located where we are on the mountain means there is no road access by car for 5 months of the year which means we need to maintenance and repair everything ourselves and be set up for bad weather which can last of days.
  
  Among the tasks you will assist with are cooking, washing, ski gear upkeep, snow management around the lodges, Snowmobile driving, general assisting with repair and upkeep of the building.
  
  
  We have been living and visiting our mountain lodges for over 18 years we are familiar the the surrounding and can offer up many suggestions for your days off to explore the region of nearby surroundings

  Aide

  You must love the mountain..... and its remoteness, we are after people who are mindful of the environment, earth and eggar to experience the challenges of assisting us with the day to day operations of running our family lodges.
  
  We are after people to are focused on sharing and cooking wholesome and organic meals, keen on learning and understanding snow safety, learning to drive snowmobiles for assisting with transport, managing our ski/snow gear and of cause enjoys spending time shredding on the slopes when tasks are complete (and on pow days )
  
  Ideally we are after a ski instructor who can assist with ski lessons for the kids from time to time, single or couple
  
  We are only taking workers on a 2.5-3 month basis (Late December to march ) for the duration of the winter period . Exceptions would me made if you have ski instructing experience and we would happily offer you a one month stay during January .

  Hébergement

  Every couple or single worker will have their own room, rooms are in the same space that is shared with us meaning we share toilet, baths, living and kitchen spaces .
  
  Our lodges are new modern architecturally designed buildings that are warm cosy environment with lots of wood and amazing views of the ski slope and mountain valley below.
  
  We also have two cars that can be used on your days off for exploring the area if it is not needed by or family or friends staying.
