Description
We are a German family with four children, and we’ve bought an old Bulgarian village house that had been abandoned for 25 years. We’re lovingly restoring the house, the garden, and the stables, and we live with a few animals in the center of a village near Varna. We enjoy an idyllic life surrounded by nature in the village, yet we’re also close to the city and the sea (a 20-minute drive).
Our children are 13, 15, 17, and 20 years old—two boys and two girls/young women.
Our oldest daughter already lives on her own in Varna, but visits us very regularly.

Wir sind eine deutsche Familie mit 4 Kindern und haben uns ein altes bulgarisches Dorfhaus gekauft, das 25 Jahre verlassen war. Dieses sowie den dazugehörigen Garten und die Stallungen bauen wir liebevoll wieder auf uns leben mit einigen Tieren im Zentrum eines Dorfes nahe Varna. Wir leben in der Natur und im Dorf idyllisch, sind aber auch nahe an der Stadt und am Meer (20 Minuten mit dem Auto).
Unsere Kinder sind 13, 15, 17 und 20 Jahre alt. 2 Jungs und 2 Mädels / junge Frauen.
Unsere älteste Tochter lebt schon alleine in Varna, besucht uns aber sehr regelmäßig.

With us, you'll gain insights into life as an expat in Bulgaria, the development of our property and farm (animals, fruit, and vegetable cultivation), and a simple, nature-oriented lifestyle. We'll make time for conversations, shared activities, and mutual learning.
We're happy to share our experiences (e.g., house renovation, self-organization, animal care, cultivation, and living abroad) and, in turn, hopefully learn from you through our daily lives together.

Du bekommst bei uns Einblicke in das Leben als Auswanderer in Bulgarien, den Aufbau unseres Grundstücks und des Farm-Bereiches (Tiere, Obst, Gemüseanbau) sowie in einen naturverbundenen, einfachen Lebensstil. Wir nehmen uns Zeit für Gespräche, gemeinsame Aktivitäten und gegenseitiges Lernen.
Wir teilen gerne unsere Erfahrungen (z. B. Hausrenovierung, Selbstorganisation, Tierpflege, Anbau, Leben im Ausland) und lernen gleichzeitig hoffentlich von dir durch den gemeinsamen Alltag.
Typische gemeinsame Aktivitäten sind:
Lagerfeuerabende und Gespräche
Ausflüge in die Natur oder ans Meer
gemeinsame Spaziergänge mit den Tieren
gemeinsames Kochen oder Projekte im Garten
Unser Ziel ist, dass du nicht nur „mithilfst“, sondern wirklich Teil einer Erfahrung wirst, die für beide Seiten bereichernd ist.
Aide
The tasks with us are intentionally simple and always done together with us. The goal is not to replace professional tradespeople, but to work on small, manageable activities together and learn from each other.
Typical tasks include:
helping in the garden (maintenance, simple tasks)
support with everyday activities around the house
caring for and feeding the animals
cooking or support in daily household activities
basic hands-on tasks within small projects
For larger or more technical work, we always rely on local professionals.

Die Aufgaben bei uns sind bewusst einfach gehalten und finden immer gemeinsam mit uns statt. Es geht nicht darum, professionelle Handwerker zu ersetzen, sondern gemeinsam kleinere, überschaubare Tätigkeiten umzusetzen und dabei voneinander zu lernen.
Typische Tätigkeiten sind:
Mithilfe im Garten (Pflege, einfache Arbeiten)
Unterstützung im Alltag rund ums Haus
Versorgung und Pflege der Tiere
Kochen und Mithilfe im Haushalt
einfache handwerkliche Tätigkeiten im Rahmen kleiner Projekte
Größere oder fachlich anspruchsvolle Arbeiten vergeben wir grundsätzlich an lokale Fachkräfte.

Hébergement
You’ll be staying in our large Camper / RV, which served as a home for our family of six for a year after we moved abroad. It’s practically your own apartment right in front of our house.
As well as cooking, barbecuing and having dinner together, we organise meals flexibly depending on the situation. We usually provide food for you to cook for yourself in the motorhome, so you can look after your own meals. We regularly eat together in the evenings, whenever the opportunity arises.

Du darfst in unserem großen Wohnmobil wohnen welches für unsere 6-köpfige Familie nach der Auswanderung 1 Jahr lang das Zuhause war. Du hast praktisch deine eigene Wohnung vor unserem Haus.
Neben gemeinsamen Kochen, Grillen und Abendessen organisieren wir die Verpflegung flexibel und situationsabhängig. In der Regel stellen wir Lebensmittel für die Selbstversorgung im Wohnmobil zur Verfügung, sodass du dich selbst versorgen kannst. Abends essen regelmäßig gemeinsam, wenn es sich ergibt.

Digital Nomads can work in the camper or outside, using the WiFi or their own hotspot. However, our village does not have glass fibre or 5G connection, so 4G Internet must be enough.
