  Description

  We are a small riding family farm in Gyöngyössolymos, Mátra Mountains, Hungary. We live in a quite self-made house, partly off-the-grid, but only 2 km from the village Gyöngyössolymos and 5 km from Gyöngyös city. Public transportation is therefore no difficulty. You can stay on our yurt, wifi is available.
  There are wonderfull hiking ares around our farm, you need not cross a street to be able to walk or ride for hours.
  
  We have mainly Islandic horses, breed and trained by ourselves. These very special horses are extremly emphatetic, what makes them suitable for children, also with special needs. Beside weekly riding opportunity we organise children's camps, both for everidge and for special need children.
  
  We wish volounteers for at least 10 days , beside a lot of free time we can organise educational programs after work: either workshops at the farm around special topics (organic farming, renewable energy, environmental issues, garbage, social issues, inequality) or visiting other projects in the neighbourhood.
  
  Living with many children and animals is even in Hungary, a not so densely populated country not easy. Therefore we had to move several times and due to divorse sell our previous farm. 4 years ago we started again at point zero, on an abandoned land, where wineyards used to be and the wires of the fomer whineyards are still in the ground, causing deathly damage to all wild and domestic animals. Recultivating this area means not only creating a living space for ourselves and the children who visit us, but incorporates a severe environmental issue at the same time. We are collecting those old rosty cabels of wires, cutting the bush to renew the pastures (before the wine originally this peace of land used to be a hugh pasture) and collecting garbade. We would need help in constructing works, especially welcome hard working persons and men, but there is work with creating a garden, planting trees, growing vegetables, painting, renewing fences and training the horses.
  
  In exchange you can enjoy the soecial athmosphere the yourt, where you can observe thousands of stars above your bed, have a lot of free time, travel in the area around or to Budapest, which is only at one hour distance. You can ride a horse, walk, hike, climb, ride a bike, or just enjoy the sun and relax. We have a small pool to.
  
  Besides we have social projects as well, visiting gipsy kids in slums and organising summer camps. We are still continuing our work with socially or physically disadvantaged families and children. The actual economic breakdown is hitting badly the poorest families. Children play on the streets without supervision or any programs, and are happy if we bring some excitement in the days.
  
  In the summer we will again organize free camps for children with very poor economic and social backgrounds. Last summer we hosted over 30 kids from ghettos with very bad housing conditions, no bathrooms, unemployment, drugs, and crime. Most of them never had the opportunity to travel or to have a vacation. Some of them experienced a shower for the first time in their lives. The actual social and political situation in Hungary worsened the social exclusion and discrimination of Roma and all disadvantaged groups dramatically. We need helping hands and caring, open-minded people with big hearts.
  
  Budapest is only 80 km, reachable in about 60 minutes.
