  We are an Independent, Child-Centered School and offer a Residential Internship
  
  We are an 'alternative' preschool to 9th grade independent school in Purbach at the windsurfing and kitesurfing-paradise lake ‚Neusiedlersee‘ in the eastern part of Austria. We offer a comprehensive, yearlong residential internship for an english native that includes valuable learning experiences both in and outside of school. At the moment we are looking for an english native to assist in the mornings with our 11 kids from 6th grade (11 to 14 years old)!

  We re-invent school accounting to the latest findings in neuro-science. You will learn how to plan and execute an alternative learning experience for a small group of teenagers (9 pupils 12-16 years old). You will assist the main teacher and will have the opportunity to co-create lessons with her. You can learn about the natural preserve around lake Neusiedl from our park rangers and assist with art projects of our art-therapists. We are situated in a small village south of Vienna - there are tons of cultural treasures to explore at your doorstep and we are happy to show you around :)

  Aide

  From January 2023 on, we are looking for positive-minded helpers who love to work with teenagers. Our program offers the opportunity to intern at a newly opened, small free school in the heart of Europe (40 children; class where intern would help has currently just 10 pupils), with ongoing support and guidance from members of the teaching staff and founders of the school, to gain firsthand experience in a uniquely child-centered learning environment.
  
  We have a strong focus on free play in nature (our school is situated near an area of UN protected nature reserve) as well as creativity and art and live a relationship oriented educational approach. At our school we teach according to principles of Maria Montessori, Rudolf Steiner, Célestin Freinet, Jesper Juul and according to techniques of the Davis Dyslexia International Association.
  
  We are looking for an english native to help during class and accompany our kids during free play in the nearby forest, together with our teachers.
  
  SMALL PRINT STUFF...
  Working hours maximum 4-5 hours per day, Monday to Thursday plus 5 hours household help.
  
  Accomodation will be provided by a member of our staff. We expect you to help with daily meal preparations there, weekends can be spent independently from the host family at the facilities of the school.
  
  Our residential internship program is typically a full school year commitment, but we are open to 3 or 6 month internships as well. The school year for us generally runs from the first week in September 2021 to the last week in June 2022.
  
  We offer various workshops for parents & teachers at the school, from 'non-violent-communication by Marshall Rosenberg to brain-friendly-learning techniques and other communication seminars, which can all be attended free of charge by you :)

  In our school we teach english and spanish from 4th grade - so it would be great if you speak one of these languages. At the moment we are looking for an english native teacher assistant to help with our kids from 6th grade (11-14 years old)!

  Hébergement

  Room in a private home near school.
  
  At school, we offer warm lunch 4 days a week and workawayers are welcome to participate in these lunch times. In addition, they can join meal times at the host family.

  Train to Vienna 2 walking minutes from the school (departs every 60 minutes; 50 minutes traveling time to the city centre of Vienna). Walking distance to the shore of Lake Neusiedl.
