  Description

  We are a family run dairy farm in the Austrian Alps with 150 animals in our barn. Our family consists of me (Rita) my partner Michael, our two little children and my parents.
  
  We are located in a truly beautiful alpine region in between of three majour touristic areas (Schladming-Dachstein, Ausseerland, Gesäuse). Our farm is in a little village with a lot of nature around but still not to far from a little city. The bike road is just in front of our farm, which connects the whole valley. The bus station is appr. 1 km away and the train station 6 km.
  
  I was several times abroad myself and love to have international people around for cultural exchange and to help them explore our beautiful region!

  I was a consultant for robotic milking previously and am happy to share my knowledge about the Austrian way of dairy farming with you. On workdays we usually share lunch together and every now and then a coffee. So if you like to share some time with us, get to know our country and culture but also appreciate your private time - that position is right for you. In the free time we are mostly in our private apartment and do activities as a family. I will help you to explore our beautiful area and give you tipps based on your interests. If you stay for an extended period of time there will for sure be a possibility to take you to lokal culutural events.

  Aide

  Daily tasks for you depending on your skills and interest could be cleaning floors in the barn, keep the cows cubicles clean, keep the calves clean and happy, help with feeding and field work if your able to drive a tractor, help around the house with mowing the lawn or cleaning. If your good with children and cooking we appreciate help here as well.
  
  You should be able to move in the free stall barn among the dairy cows and treat them well. Tractor driving skills are definately a benefit, but depending on the season not absolutely neccesary.
  
  Please be aware that this is a modern dairy farm, which means we treat our animals well and they are also our source of income. So it's not a romantic small farm with all kinds of animals which are treated like pets. It's a professional dairy farm where we need to work efficiently and economy matters.
  
  We offer a salary of 11,73€ for every hour worked and free accomodation. In return we expect you to do a good job and fullfill the tasks good and quickly. Working hours can vary depending on your skills and on how you can help. For skilled workers we can offer up to 40 hours also depending on the season of the year. Please be ready to help at least 15 hours per week. Of course you will have at least 2 days off a week or sometimes more if you want to travel somewhere.

  Hébergement

  You will stay in our big house on the farm. Our whole family lives in that house with seperate apartments for each partie and one community room. You would have a big beautiful room with cooking facility , wifii, TV and your own bathroom. Also you can have your own bike during your stay with us. Usually we share lunch during workdays and have breakfast and dinner on our own. You can help yourself with groceries from the well filled pantry in the basement if you like (we will charge a certain amount for the food).
