We hosted (me and my children) Belen and Maxime for about a month and we had a wonderful summer together!
They are such kind people, open, ready to help. I didn't need much help at this time other than a helping hand with renovating my house and spending time with the kids. But they, on their own initiative, put my entire apartment in order (as a

I had a really nice week at Julie's place! This was my first workaway so I didn't really know what to expect, but Julie was very kind and welcoming from the beginning. She is a very open and hard working woman. We spoke french together, which was really cool. I feel like my french has improved in the week i was there. Sometimes it was hard to

For work i helped to clean the room of the kids and helped a bit at the chantier. It was really cool to see all the things you need to take care of when renovating a house. I never realised with how many different materials you can build a wall, so it was quite eye-opening. I was surprised that Julie trusted me with so many (easy) things i had never done, and in her own future house! I really didn't want to mess it up, but i believe it went all good. It was a really nice experience I enjoyed this type of work very much! I also learned a lot of building vocabulary.
In the last weekend Julie had to be somewhere else, so she dropped me off at the mountains with a tent and I went wild camping for the first time, which was super cool.
All in all I enjoyed my week in Cunlhat, thanks a lot for having me, sending best wishes to you and your family!!Laissé par l'hôte pour le workawayer (Jael)
We host Jael during a week. She's a girl very nice, smiling and trustworthy. That was the first time I host somebody so young (18 years old) and I had not anticipated that requires more availability as Jael still live at parents and doesn't know flatsharing or work world. I hope she still enjoyed her stay.
I would also like to add that she is really great with children, mine loved her and they continue to talk about her after she is gone.
Julie is an extremely kind girl, discreetly energetic, humble and respectful. She treats you as a friend and trusts you spontaneously. She taught me how to prepare mortar and use some masonry tools which was lots of fun !!! I also had the opportunity to meet some of her friends and family members who are very sweet and welcoming people too. During

We spent 5 weeks with Julie and her three children - Martial, Arthur and Azilys. It was truly the best cultural exchange experience. We (myself and my 5year-old Madlene) were very warmly welcomed and integrated into Julie's and kids' family life. They are all (including her parents, grand mother and all friends) very very kind people!! We all grew
… read more in the short time very close. And we all have learned from each other so many things!!
Language: I told Julie before coming that I really need to practice my french and ever since we came, she was very dedicated to help me to improve (which I really did!!!!). I am very grateful also for all the time that she spent helping Madlene to learn French (Julie is an experienced mom with extensive pedagogical skills and lots lots and lots of patience).
Learning: I have learned so many things from Julie - delicious recepies (we tasted so many yummy things- Julie can introduce you into the french cheese and wine culture), how to work with wood, great gardening tipps and tricks (permaculture), information about rasing kids with love and patience (pedagogy and psychology), but most of all a loooot about french culture (travel tipps, books to read, music to listen to and many many movies - as Julie is an expert on french cinematography).
Travel: We have done many trips and camping in the area with Julie and it was fun fun fun ..(We visited f.e. Thiers - the 'city of french cutlery' where we did a workshop on knife making- what an extraordinary activity!!Or another day we visited the Ametyst House with the possibility to go for amethysts crystal searching tour.... etc)
As for Martial, Arthur and Azilys - they are all three increadibly independent and skilled children. They are very easy going and generous. Madlene loved to play with them and was happy to learn how it is to grow in a big family (since she is, for now, an only child - she had a possibility to experience life with 'siblings' which I am very grateful for!!!!
All three (Martial, Arthur and Azilys) are used to be confronted with people from other cultures and learn already English on daily basis.
Soft skills: I admire Julie as a person, she is a very inspirating person. She has many projects going on, is creative, extraordinary skilled (as for masonry and woodcraft) always ready to learn and experience new things. She is very open to new cultures and different ways of doing things. She does have great plans for herself and her children. She is strong and very positive (always sees life from the positive side). She is very just, kind and generous. It is a pleasure to speak with her, she takes time for you, listens to, one feels always happy with her - she has this calming positive aura around herself.
Next year we are very much looking for returning to Culnhat !!!
It is truly hard to find words that could possibly describe the amount of gratitude that I feel for Julie, Martial, Arthur and Azilys!!!!!

MERCI !

What wonderful weeks we spent with Eva and Madlene! 5 weeks full of laughter and long discussions. We have all become very friendly and hope to see each other again soon. Eva is always motivated and keeps smiling in any situation, even at a birthday party where we welcomed 7 more children.
Eva helped me a lot in the daily tasks, cooking, cleaning, storage, and also with children, she is so patient!
We also did gardening, masonry, do-it-yourself ... I made a lot of progress in a lot of small projects for which I could hardly find motivation alone.
As for Madlene, what a little girl easy going, so calm! And what a pleasure to see the speed at which she "absorbed" French to finally manage to discuss with me after only 5 weeks! Finally I'll just say ... THANK YOU!Nous avons remarqué que vous avez seulement mis en ligne 3 photos dans votre profil.
