Description
we're seeking individuals skilled in cooking, teaching English, or marketing. If you have expertise in any of these areas, we'd love to hear from you!
ABOUT US:
Come and experience the iconic Japanese countryside!
Our project's aim is to gather many international travelers and explorers to experience the authentic rural side of Japan.
This unique project is based in an old renovated school building. Here you can meet fellow travelers and help us with DIY, House renovation, English classes and event marketing.
Our main goal is to reimagine Kagawa as a destination both for travelers and future international residents.
Japan is currently experiencing two significant changes at once: Population decline and concentration of people in the cities. Rural areas, like those found in Kagawa, are losing their significance and are in danger of disappearing. We see this project as one small thing we can do to preserve the culture we know and love- you will soon understand that Japan, seen from the lovely mountain ranges and rice fields, presents a very different picture to the Japan of Tokyo and Osaka.
If you see significance in our mission and can be fully on-board, we promise you an unforgettable experience here out on Shikoku Island. Far away from urban destinations, here you'll be immersed in an intersection of culture and gorgeous nature, along with like-minded peers who are waiting to meet you.

WHAT TO DO AROUND SANUKI:
Try the Sanuki Udon! It's famous all over the country.
There are multiple Onsens (hot springs) in Sanuki, one is very close to our school!
Climb and hike the nearby mountains.
There is a beautiful beach you can reach by bycicle!
The last two temples of the 88-Pilgram route are located in Sanuki!
There is a dolphin center where can even feed them, and in the nearby river you can see turtle families everywhere!
You can reach the next biggest city Takamatsu easily by train (train station is located 3 min from the school): Karaoke, bouldering, round 1, bars, walking street, whatever you could wish for!
There are also FREE BICYCLES available for the Workawayers! If you have a valid drivers license, cars are available for rent also.
How to get to Sanuki:
Sanuki is located in Shikoku Island, one of Japan's four big islands across the strait to the south of Hiroshima.
From Tokyo, there are direct flights to Takamatsu (the capital of Kagawa). From there, or Takamatsu station, you reach our school by train in about 40 minutes. From other areas of Japan, we recommend either taking the train (Shinkansen) or highway buses. Don't worry if you aren't comfortable with public transportation-we will help you! We can also arrange pick-up in Takamatsu or Tsuda station if needed.Informations complémentaires

Immersing myself in an old elementary school and mingling with the locals was a unique sensation, made all the more so by the staff who listened to every need.
I'd definitely recommend it!
