Our site is located in Trakai district, not far from the capital Vilnius (some 45-50 km). The place lies amidst lakes, mounds, historical sites and old forests. It is a peaceful place of extraordinary beauty and energy.
Our team includes about 20 active volunteers who are constantly involved in community development, events, social projects. About 200 volunteers from all over Lithuania and abroad take part in the activities each year. We can accept up to 10 volunteers at a time and provide food and accommodation for volunteers staying longer than 3 days.
We speak four languages: Lithuanian, Russian, English and German.
We are sincere, open, funny, guided by the principles of sustainable consumption, sorting trash, conserving and cleaning nature, planting trees, collecting and recycling plastic. We strive to convey our values to children through summer camps and through the ecological initiatives.
Planned 2022 events and activities:
Spring:
Plastic recycling factory, oaks, gardening.
May 1st – 15th Create a place for schools educations ‘Oaks story’ and 'Plastic way': decorate the clay house, create decorations, maintenance.
May 16th through June 23th conducting plastic recycling and oaks educational workshops for pupils and students (groups of up to 30 children).
Sorting out and recycling plastic caps.
Caring for 4000 oaks plants in the pots: plant care, weeding, watering.
Planting vegetables for summer.
Summer
Camps for kids
GIRLS CAM: June 26th – July 2nd (Theme "Connections")
ART CAMP for teenagers: July 3rd - 9th (Art projects, recycling plastic, body art, etc.)
CRAFTS CAMP: July 10th – 16th
CINEMA CAMP: July 17th – 23th (Creating a film about medieval times)
OWLS CAMP for teenagers: July 24th - 30th (Teambuilding, communication, psychology)
FRIENDS CAMP: July 31st – August 6th (Textile art, natural construction)
HONEY CAMP for teenagers: August 7th - 13th (a bit of everything :)!)
OAKS CAMP: August 14th – 20th (Lithuanian traditions throughout the year)
Volunteers have three main areas for work:
1. Territorial volunteers (TES) - site maintenance and development; growing vegetables, taking care of oak plants and plastic recycling factory, helping kids to build houses: tree –hut or clay house, depends on what kind of a building project will be run for children during the camps. 2022 we are planning to start building a round house from bags with sand – it will be a small storage/housekeeping room.
2. Kitchen volunteers.
3. Workshop teachers for the camps. (We have already invited some Belgian volunteers via an organisation for two kids camps: CRAFTS (could teach any craft) and OAK (could teach any folk dancing, singing or present any native art, closes, ornaments).) We will cover all the costs of the workshop equipment or buy the necessary equipment.
Autumn
September 3st – November 1st conducting educational workshops for children, students (groups of up to 30 children), sorting out and recycling plastic caps.

You will meet a great community of other volunteers, consisting of creative souls and fun people. Our main team consists of some 20 local volunteers helping out on a regular basis. Otherwise we have about 200 volunteers a year enjoying our site. Apart from that, we always get quite a few visitors as well - friends, family, neighbours, school classes, groups of students...
The surroundings are wonderful: there are several lakes near by, also beautiful forests and hills. The site is close to the famous Trakai town and also not far from the capital Vilnius.

We always need a helping hand for the maintenance of our site: some natural constructions, gardening, creating a recycling line for plastic, planting trees, extending the tree nursery, maintenace of the surrounding forests, etc.

Depending on our staff on site Lithuanian, English, Russian, Polish, Spanish and German languages available.
There are several accomodations available: some in the main house, some in the surrounding smaller buildings - each room/hut fits 2 to 5 persons. There is also plenty of space for the tents, if preferred.
During the Summer-Camps for children an alternative accomodation will be offered: there are camper-vans and tents on the site near by, which is directly in the forest next to the lake - especially suitable for those looking forward to live directly in the nature.
Volunteers are provided with breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food is vegetarian and is prepared by the local volunteer-staff or by the guest-volunteers themselves, if so desired (the kitchen is available and the products are provided). Alcohol and drugs are not tolerated on our site.
You can enjoy stunning nature of Lithuanian countryside in the lake region, surrounded by national parks with lovely hiking trails.

We have a quite decent internet connection, which can get quite busy being used by our staff though - your own mobile internet could be helpful!
We have enough space on our property for a campervan or motorhome.
