  Description

  This project is based in central New Jersey. We run a thriving music and theater Arts school with my family and some really great young arts educators. We help children in our community develop confidence by running acting and music programs throughout the year and in the summer four fully-staged youth musical theater plays.
  
  My partner Is a professional web designer, digital Marketing specialist and photographic artist and essayist who exhibits locally. Support is needed here also.
  
  in addition to the music school, we run an African-American museum involved in history reclamation, telling lost stories, and creating a shared and equitable future.
  
  At times, but not since the pandemic, we are also responsible for running a music festival with extraordinary local bands to raise money for youth suicide prevention efforts and creating mental health programming for the community.
  
  As you can see, we are quite busy doing great work. It’s quite a whirlwind! We need lots of help around the house, around the school, and with our non-profits. We value volunteers who are excited by these learning opportunities and are willing to roll up their sleeves and get to work with house and professional projects. I am the mother of grownups and we love to meet people from other cultures, build lasting relationships, and help mentor and share experiences that make life better. We live in New Jersey (during the week) and occasionally visit Brooklyn, NY (on weekends.)
  
  We are looking for enthusiastic, kind and, hardworking travelers who will share their culture, cuisine and, spirit to help out our efforts along this journey.
  
  The type of help we are looking for changes month to month, so it is always better for you to let us know how you can help us and we can discuss further if our project is a good fit for you. Please include this information in your initial inquiry to ensure a response.
  
  We are looking for someone with skills and interest in the following areas:
  
  
  ORGANIZING, COOKING, CLEANING, YARD WORK, AND OTHER PROJECTS AT HOME AND SCHOOL LOCATION
  
  VIDEO PRODUCTION
  Creative and digital technology skills are needed in film and video editing for our projects. We use Final Cut Pro and can also work with Premiere.
  
  DIGITAL MARKETING/ADVERTISING
  Web design/programming, video editing, social media marketing and management, blog writing, digital marketing, and branding to help improve our online marketing, websites, social media advertising, as well as print promotions.
  You should be very energetic, smart, cheerful, self-motivated, resourceful, and creative. Independent as well as a team player. Rest and downtime are respected. A generous spirit AND a sense of humor is a MUST!
  
  NOTE 1: Health and safety are our top concerns as we exist among vulnerable people. You must be vaccinated understand that the pandemic is not over and comfortable using appropriate cautions to be in your home and business. Lack of respect for safety is s deal breaker.
  
  NOTE 1A: Personal hygiene and personal tidiness is a must. Deodorant is a must.
  
  NOTE 2: volunteers MUST understand that the project is in suburban central New Jersey and must be committed to our objectives during the exchange. If your primary objective is to be in NYC, this project is not a match.
  
  Note 3; We prefer to receive volunteers who have their laptop and can stay a minimum of 1 month or more.
  
  NOTE 4: We prefer to receive volunteers who know how to cook and enjoy it, and are willing to clean and be proactive about it.
  
  NOTE 5: We prefer to receive volunteers who enjoy working with children and have knowledge of the craft of acting, visual art, videography, graphic design, and/or music OR have experience with doing organization, cleaning, building,

  Work with and support a dynamic and successful woman leader in a fun multicultural youth arts environment with special projects related to youth mental health. Learn about social media and learn about the operations of a successful music school and museum non-profit. Practice language skills.
