Hey :) My name is Simon, and I come home a farming family in the countryside of Kilkenny, Ireland. On our farm we have a dairy cow enterprise of 230 cows, spread over a large grassland farm, alongside four dogs, 2 donkeys and much much more!
We offer a short term 1-2 weeks paid position to someone willing to help us on our busy dairy farm. The cows have just finished giving birth and most of the stock have been let out to pastures, and as a result our farm yard is in need of a big spring clean! This work entails cleaning out barns and sheds, clearing out silage pits, pressure hose washing, some painting and general yard tidy up. Other duties would include milking cows and feeding calves, and general animal husbandry skills. Someone with a keen interest will be considered for this role, and we would love if you did have other experience in this sector, to share your knowledge and expertise with us! This is very manual work so we need someone who is capable, hard working, and willing to work by themselves and alongside us.
****All work will be paid work.**** We have a large farmhouse in which you will be staying and are about 20 mins from the city. There is some lovely nature around, with plenty of walks and hikes and adventures. We offer home cooked meals and opportunity for you to share your culinary skills with us, if you like. *unfortunately we can not cater for nut allergies or vegan/vegetarian diets at this moment in time. However, kitchen is available with a well stocked pantry for your use.

We offer an open door to our family and our home! Sharing dinners and enjoying evening conversations , outdoor bbqs when summer allows! And weekend adventures! We can also drop you to the city or local bus/train if you want to experience more of Ireland on the weekends!
