Gardening and community life by the countryside in Siracusa, Italy

  Description

  For July and August we need someone or a couple to stay in the house and wet the garden.While we will be away.
  But from April until July we will be working with our volonteers.. Though more to check on the property while we will be away.
  
  
  We are a couple in ours sixties, we decided 2 years ago to live in the countryside , in the hyblean mountains , surrounded by nature , near the sea .
  we have 6 hectares of land and a lot of maintenance work.
  Of course , we have a vegetable garden, we make olive oil, wheats and we are also renovating the house.
  Our life plan is also designed to live with the community around us, so with our neighbors we are trying to create joint activities : food market ,repair and recycling, common space cleaning , plant exchange and knowledge transmission, firefighting, folkdances and social lunches.
  We also play music and love to be with friends in front of a moonlit fire.
  we try to be creative and aesthetic in everything we do .
  I am a painter on silk , and my husband is retired artist and musicien

  Volunteers live with us therefore they follow us in our daily lives and this is a great way to learn about an other culture,speak in a new language, make friends.
  we alternate work with hiking in beautiful places, playing music,and dancing in the evenings.
  we love to cook pasta especially.
  In short, for us , welcoming volunteers is a pleasure and a unique intergenerational and cultural experience .

  we need help with the vegetable garden, taking care of the orchard, working on decorating the house by building or repairing furniture

  we are 5 km from the nearest town. there is a beautiful beach at 5 km away.
  the hyblean mountains are rich in canyons with rivers and archaeological sites.
  Syracuse, Noto are baroque jewels ,just at 15 km .
