Description
We are Gaby (55) and Rupert (56), from the Faroe Islands and from Germany but since thirty years based up in a hillside in Telemark where we live on the place we love beyond description: Our farm.
We are sharing this space with our son Estel (38) some goats, two horses, a cat, some chickens and all the people that keep on passing by. The farm is run 100 % organic and as natural as only possible, we mostly use our horse for working and produce vegetables, cheese, honey, herbs, pick berries, cut wood and more.
Our philosophy is to be as self sustainable as only possible. Since 2015 years we are hosting guests through bnb that would like to come and experience the life on the farm and this is now also a part of our daily routine, especially in the summer.
We are looking for people who are genuinely interested in organic farming that we can share our knowledge with. To really benefit from the stay we recommend that you stay minimum 3 weeks.
Working on a farm is often hard (muscle building and fun ) work and variable working hours. We expect our volunteers to actively engage themselves in the activities on the farm, just as we will actively involve you in the work and the family.
We expect volunteers to follow our rythm and to be avialable for working when its needed, and then naturally there will be moments in between where you are off. as well as Sundays.
The schedule of every day depends on what there is to do, but we normally we start the day around 7-8. We have several breaks during the day
When living with us we expect you to take part on the daily houshold as well like doing the dishes, cooking and cleaning.Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

You can learn about organic farming in the Norwegian mountains. We grow our own vegetables, make cheese, harvest herbs, make hay, work with horses (and not with a tractor), bake bread, ferment.
The work we do depends on the season.Projets impliquant des enfants

It is a small, well organized, organic farm, where a lot of things are still done by hand and with the horse.
This is a great place for all people who want to learn about (nearly) self-sufficiency. We have been doing a lot of different things, so the work wasn´t boring. It has been things… read more
