Hi there!
We are an active, outdoorsy family based in Randaberg, on the scenic southwest coast of Norway. We are passionate about nature, sports, movement, and continuous learning.
Right now, our main goal is language immersion—we are specifically looking for native or fluent speakers of Spanish or Chinese (Mandarin) to join us. We want someone who will naturally integrate language practice into our daily routines, conversations, and family activities.
In exchange, we offer a welcoming family environment and an authentic Norwegian coastal experience. If you love spending your weekends outside—hiking, exploring the coastline, enjoying nature, and staying physically active—you will feel right at home with us. We love sharing good conversations, discovering new perspectives, and making our guests feel like part of the household.

The Norwegian "Friluftsliv" culture: We embrace outdoor life in all kinds of weather. You can join us for coastal hikes, cycling trips, and exploring scenic nature trails.
Family & local insights: You will be treated as part of the household, experiencing everyday routines, local culture, and seasonal outdoor habits firsthand.
Knowledge sharing: We are happy to share our experience with healthy living, fitness routines, outdoor exploration, and local traditions, while learning all about your home culture, perspectives, and cuisine.

Aide
Language Practice & Daily Life Sharing
Our primary focus is language practice in Spanish or Chinese (Mandarin). We are looking for around 4–5 hours of engagement per day, 5 days a week, mostly integrated into our daily routine.
Your main tasks will include:
Conversational practice: Speaking Spanish or Chinese with us during meals, walks, and daily household activities to create a natural immersion environment.
Structured practice: Short, casual daily sessions focused on vocabulary, pronunciation, and practical phrasing.
Light daily help: Lending a hand with light household routines, preparing meals together, or keeping shared spaces tidy.
Weekends & Free Time
Weekends are completely your free time, but if you enjoy being active, you are very welcome to join us on outdoor trips—hiking, exploring the coast, cycling, and enjoying the Norwegian landscape. We want this to be an active, mutually enriching exchange! -

Hébergement
Private Room with En-Suite Bathroom
You will have a comfortable, bright private guest room with its own private bathroom (en-suite), ensuring plenty of privacy and personal space. The room can accommodate up to 2 people (a couple or two travel partners). Clean bed linen, blankets, and towels are fully provided.
Meals & Daily Life
We provide daily food and shared meals, which are a central part of our routine and language exchange.
We focus on clean, wholesome, and nutritious eating, but we are flexible and happy to share our kitchen and cooking routines together.
You will have access to high-speed Wi-Fi, laundry facilities, and shared family spaces. -

Strictly substance-free: Our home is entirely smoke-free, alcohol-free, and drug-free. We maintain a clean, healthy living space and ask all guests to respect this completely.
References: We only host applicants who have verified Workaway profiles and positive reviews/references from previous hosts.
Respectful family rhythm: We live in an active rhythm with early mornings and quiet, restful evenings. We expect our guests to be tidy, considerate, and treat our shared living spaces with care.

Randaberg is well connected by public transport to Stavanger and surrounding coastal sights.
Bicycles are a great way to explore the local area, and we are happy to help you find your way around on your days off. -
