We are new hostel based in Guanaja one of the bay islands.
Guanaja is a beautiful place surrounded by sandy beaches with lots of snorkelling and hikes for the adventurous traveller.
The hostel owner Aaron has made Guanaja his home for the last 5 years. Aaron lives on the property with his uncle Lenny who has been a resident of Guanaja for many decades.
Looking for volunteers over the age of 22 to help with projects such as gardening, construction, D.I.Y, creative projects, people who are good with social media and promotion. Ideally volunteers like animals since we have 2 dogs, 2 cats and chickens.

We speak mainly English here but are very open to learning more languages and would love to practice more Spanish.
Aaron is in the process of developing the hostel he has a background in carpentry and is very handy , if volunteers have a background in or skills in DIY this would be ideal.
We are looking for people who don’t mind getting hands-on and stuck into projects around the property.
We are still in the early stages of setting up the hostel, so we need enthusiastic and energetic volunteers who can also bring fresh and new ideas. Those who are capable of constructing things around the property as well as getting involved in daily tasks such as upkeep of the hostel and feeding the animals.
We are also very interested in permaculture, so those with experience in this field would be invaluable to us helping to build on the sustainable vision we have for the property.
We expect around 4-5 hours of work 5 days a week, the minimum stay we take for work away is 1 week but preferably a couple of weeks would be best.
We provide free dormitory style accommodation with fresh towels and sheets. We offer 3 simple meals, 5 days a week which the volunteers will get involved In making for themselves, us or other volunteers. Days off volunteers will be organising their own meals. We also offer free filtered water and coffee.
Guanaja island is a little less connected transport wise than the other bay islands. Getting here can take a little longer, so its good to plan for that. There are almost daily flights from La Ceiba direct to Guanaja airport. However the cheaper option is the ferry that runs from Trujillo 3 times per week Mon, Wed and Fri.
Once you make it to the airport or dock we can help organise your onward travel here to the hostel.
