 - Description- Hey there,
we are a family of 5: me (SIlvia), Claudio (my husband) and our 3 sons aged 10, 5, 3 (plus 2 cats, 2 dogs and some chickens).
After living in Berlin for almost 10 years, in 2020 we moved back to Calabria, pushed by our need to feel closer to Nature and to go back to our roots.
We live and carry on our life project in San Vito sullo Ionio, on a land of 1 hectare with an old rural house on it. Currently we sleep in our camper using the ground floor of the house as living space. We have the basic "facilities", such as compost toilet, hot water, solar energy, available and improving them constantly.
The most of the food we eat is coming from our garden and from the wood. We do not to use chemicals and we are constantly experimenting alternative agriculture methods in order to grow our food naturally while regenerating the soil.
We use to store fruits and vegetables in jars or dried. We bake our own bread and pizza using the natural yeast and this year we are planting our own wheat for the first time.
Our 3 kids are here with us, we do homeschooling and we take care of them. We read, have fun with music, play with clay, go out for work/playing and more. For that reason it would be preferable if you like to have kids around.
Here we don't have a TV, we use mobile phones only when needed and in general we try to keep our family as much screen-free as possible, enjoying the world surrounding us :)
We also enjoy our time meeting our fiends, helping each other, sharing meals and doing activities together.
We still have much to improve and to learn... and of course we are glad to have guests willing to join us in this adventure.
