Description
We are a Gurung tribal village in Gorkha district. We mostly farm maize, millet and vegetables; and mostly live a subsistence lifestyle. We farm the food we eat, and keep goats, buffalo, and chicken. We currently have a chicken coop of 200 capacity for eggs and meat. Our village is about 700 years old and our ancestors lived off the land. Our village is in the altitude of 1700 meters, but because we are located in a subtropical region, it does not snow here. Patiswara village is located south of mount Manasulu which is the 8th highest peak in the world. We are also located in the region of the Annapurna mountain range.

Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre
People visiting us will get to experience traditional Gurung culture since we are a village that has preserved our culture. Workawayers will get to learn our traditional agriculture which does not use any chemicals or heavy machinery. We can also teach about herbal medicine since we have not forgotten our traditional herbal medicine. Because there is a forest right above and below our village, you will get to learn about the flora and fauna of this region. There are more than 100 species of birds in this area and you will be able to see them. You will be able to learn our style of cooking since we cook all our meals with the vegetables from our garden.
Aide
Travelers will help us for 4 hours a day, mostly in the farm, gardening vegetables. We will work together 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours after lunch. Sometimes we do charity work, for example we made the water supply of the entire village. We feed the chickens 3 times a day. Workawayers will require basic farming skills, but we can teach you if you don't have experience in a subsistence farm.
