  Description

  We live in South west Ireland on the coast a few miles from the Mizen Head. A number of beautiful beaches are close by. We live remotely and like the quiet life. We are working from home. The experience we offer would be good for an individual who likes nature, outdoors, quiet living. We have 4 children, all are away at college/working. But two return home for the Summer months and work nearby. Our nearest villages Crookhaven and Goleen are six miles away. We grow vegetables, fruit and have a large ornamental seaside garden. We live in a renovated traditional farmhouse. we can provide own room and shared bathroom and are a very LGBTQ+ friendly household. Food is supplied. Kate is a keen and experienced cook/baker, supplying the home with fresh bread and cakes. We are looking for help maintaining the garden and general outdoor work, painting, mowing grass and whatever skills you can contribute. We would be happy with 4 good hours help 5 days a week. We would prefer you had gardening experience and a keen interest in nature and the outdoors. Good physical health and strength is needed. Experience of using lawnmowers, strimmers and other machinery is a bonus. Also woodwork skills are good. If the weather is bad we will find indoor tasks that need doing, for example painting and general household cleaning etc. . This Summer we hope to get the outside of house painted. Kate is a potter and Owen is a textile artist. Summer is a busy time for us, Kate bakes in a local cafe as well as working in her pottery shed. There is a rural bus running locally. Owen has limited mobility due to a spinal condition so physical work is difficult for him at the moment.

  Full bed and board, own bedroom and shared bathroom. Please let us know of any diet requirements. Breakfast is help yourself, lunch with Owen or if he is out/unavailable help yourself. Dinner is provided and shared with the family.
