  Description

  I'm Otto, 35 years old and I'm living near Tapachula City with my Son and our cat Miau. We left the city (Guadalajara) to create another way of living... A more conscious, simpler,spiritual,less materialistic and capitalistic but more loving and clear way! more fun...
  
  We dream of creating an eco-neighborhood, with permaculture principles on an old coffee farm in the southeast of Chiapas Mexico, 30 minutes from the beach, 45 minutes from the border to Guatemala and the Tacana volcano.
  The land is located and including two rivers which are reachable crossing the jungle. There are a few waterfalls perfect for bathing or wahsing your cloth if you like in the jungle. On your walk there you can find fresh fruits, cacao and coffee-Trees. In the near distance are other Restaurants, a small shop and a few street-vendors for basic needs. Our place is on the Coffee-Road and we have bikes so you can make a tour if you feel like.
  
  We build our home and alternative Pizzaria together with Volunteers in the last years. Nearly everything is selfmade among other things the roof, the Pizza oven, the tables and chairs. The Pizzaria (420 friendly) is open Thursdays to Sunday in the evening. Help us improve this place where you are staying in a cozy little room by yourself. We have a small Workshop-Room so we can build and repair and improve most by ourselfs. We also like to do things together, like cooking, playing games, make music together, doing yoga, or "doing nothing too" with friends and neighbors just having a good time. If we have time off, we can also chill out on the Rooftop of the Restaurant.
  
  This place is a matter of my heart and I really try to improve it, step by step. If you think you can help me with my project, please let me know so we can have a good time together.

  Soy Otto, tengo 35 años y vivo cerca de la ciudad de Tapachula con mi hijo y nuestro gato Miau. Salimos de la ciudad (Guadalajara) para crear otra forma de vivir... ¡Una forma más consciente, más sencilla, espiritual, menos materialista y capitalista pero más amorosa y clara! Más diversión...
  
  Soñamos con crear un barrio ecológico, con principios de permacultura en una antigua finca cafetalera en el sureste de Chiapas México, a 30 minutos de la playa, a 45 minutos de la frontera con Guatemala y el volcán Tacana.
  El terreno está ubicado e incluye dos ríos a los que se puede llegar cruzando la selva. Hay algunas cascadas perfectas para bañarse o lavar la ropa si lo prefiere en la selva. En su caminata podrá encontrar frutas frescas, cacao y cafetos. En las proximidades se encuentran otros restaurantes, una pequeña tienda y algunos vendedores ambulantes de artículos de primera necesidad. Nuestro lugar está en el Camino del Café y contamos con bicicletas para que puedas hacer un recorrido si te apetece.
  
  Construimos nuestra casa y Pizzaria alternativa junto con Voluntarios en los últimos años. Casi todo es de fabricación propia, entre otras cosas el techo, el horno de pizza, las mesas y las sillas. La Pizzaria (420 personas) abre de jueves a domingo por la noche. Ayúdanos a mejorar este lugar donde te alojas solo en una pequeña y acogedora habitación. Disponemos de una pequeña Sala-Taller para que podamos construir, reparar y mejorar la mayor parte por nuestra cuenta. También nos gusta hacer cosas juntos, como cocinar, jugar, hacer música juntos, hacer yoga o "no hacer nada" con amigos y vecinos, simplemente pasar un buen rato. Si tenemos tiempo libre, también podremos relajarnos en la azotea del Restaurante.
  
  Este lugar es una cuestión de mi corazón y realmente trato de mejorarlo, paso a paso. Si crees que puedes ayudarme con mi proyecto, por favor házmelo saber para pasar un buen rato juntos.

  I will share with you my knowledge in permaculture, medicinal plants, vegetable cultivation, yoga, how to live with low technology. I can teach you about my Wixarika culture, medicine songs, temazcal ceremonies and much more and i would love to give you the opportunity to see my culture and experience my way of living. Also I am happy to learn for exaple about traditions, recipies and language from your homecountry.

  Compartiré contigo mis conocimientos en permacultura, plantas medicinales, cultivo de hortalizas, yoga, cómo vivir con baja tecnología. Puedo enseñarte sobre mi cultura Wixarika, canciones medicinales, ceremonias de temazcal y mucho más y me encantaría darte la oportunidad de ver mi cultura y experimentar mi forma de vida. También me alegra aprender, por ejemplo, sobre las tradiciones, recetas y el idioma de tu país de origen.

  I really like to improve my english, so i would like you to speak english with me and my son. I can also help you improve your spanish vocabulary in return. I need your help in the household (just as you would do it at your own place) and if you feel comfortable you can help me in the Restaurant cleaning, preparing food and serving the guests. This place is not only a Restaurant but also a meeting point to play boardgames and hang out in good company. Its no problem if your spanish is not perfect, we are here to share our skills.
  The place is surrounded by the jungle, so it needs constant reforesting, like cutting gras or plantig seeds. You can also help with making the jungle more accessible, collecting rubish and doing your own projects to make this place even more beautiful.
  Sometimes there are bigger projects. For example are we currently planning to develop an exchange-market in the garden and i could need your help to realize this. Another project is to paint some rooms to have a more colorful place. Also we do sometimes Movie-Nights with friends and neighbours.
  Everyone can bring something good to the place if you are there with heart and smile. You dont need to be a good wood- crafts(wo)man, maybe you can help with marketing, IT, do some music or do what you want to improve this place, like you would in your own home.

  Realmente me gusta mejorar mi inglés, por eso me gustaría que hablaras inglés conmigo y con mi hijo. A cambio, también puedo ayudarte a mejorar tu vocabulario en español. Necesito tu ayuda en el hogar (tal como lo harías en tu propia casa) y si te sientes cómodo puedes ayudarme en el Restaurante limpiando, preparando la comida y atendiendo a los invitados. Este lugar no es sólo un Restaurante sino también un punto de encuentro para jugar juegos de mesa y pasar el rato en buena compañía. No hay problema si tu español no es perfecto, estamos aquí para compartir nuestras habilidades.
  El lugar está rodeado de selva, por lo que necesita una reforestación constante, como cortar pasto o plantar semillas. También puedes ayudar a hacer la jungla más accesible, recolectando basura y haciendo tus propios proyectos para hacer este lugar aún más hermoso.
  A veces hay proyectos más grandes. Por ejemplo, actualmente estamos planeando desarrollar un mercado de intercambio en el jardín y podría necesitar su ayuda para lograrlo. Otro proyecto es pintar algunas habitaciones para tener un lugar más colorido. A veces también hacemos Noches de Cine con amigos y vecinos.
  Todo el mundo puede aportar algo bueno al lugar si estás ahí con el corazón y una sonrisa. No necesitas ser un buen artesano de la madera, tal vez puedas ayudar con marketing, TI, hacer algo de música o hacer lo que quieras para mejorar este lugar, como lo harías en tu propia casa.

  Hébergement

  We have a Room for solo-travelers or for a couple (fully furnished, including bedlines, table and Moskito-nets) next to the Restaurant. We share bathroom (dry toilet, no running water), kitchen and living-areas. As return of your help/work i can offer you two meals a day, but you can also cook for yourself. I regulary go to Tapachula-City to buy food and basic needs on the Streetmarket and Supermarket where you can join me if you like.

  Disponemos de una Habitación para personas que viajan solas o para una pareja (completamente amueblada, incluyendo ropa de cama, mesa y mosquiteros) junto al Restaurante. Compartimos baño (inodoro seco, sin agua corriente), cocina y sala de estar. Como recompensa por tu ayuda/trabajo puedo ofrecerte dos comidas al día, pero también puedes cocinar tú mismo. Regularmente voy a Tapachula-Ciudad a comprar alimentos y necesidades básicas en el Streetmarket y Supermercado donde puedes acompañarme si quieres.

  Our expectations with volunteering are: Share experiences and practice the English language. For my part I would like to speak to you only in English because that is how I improve, (I never took classes just practicing listening to music). Same situation with my son (17 years old). There are many activities and there is always something to do. Dont worry if somedays is not much done, some days are just lazy. The idea is that you arrive, settle in and find your opportunity to growth doing what you like best. Let it be teaching us something about yourself or learn something from us. Help me and my neighbours with your skills and talents. With what? Whatever you want and can. I will not ask you to do anything in particular because we are a family and together we wash the dishes, we buy the food with the same money from the pizzeria that we share among all of us who are there. We also cook, clean, plant, paint or simply go to the waterfall to bath, play music, dance, smoke or play a board game, ride a bike, go for a walk. Sometimes as well we go our way to be by ourselfs... Like in a real family.

  Nuestras expectativas con el voluntariado son: Compartir experiencias y practicar el idioma inglés. Por mi parte me gustaría hablarles solo en inglés porque así mejoro, (nunca tomé clases solo practicando escuchar música). Misma situación con mi hijo (17 años). Hay muchas actividades y siempre hay algo que hacer. No te preocupes si algunos días no se hace mucho, algunos días simplemente son perezosos. La idea es que llegues, te instales y encuentres tu oportunidad de crecer haciendo lo que más te gusta. Deja que nos enseñe algo sobre ti o aprende algo de nosotros. Ayúdame a mí y a mis vecinos con tus habilidades y talentos. ¿Con que? Lo que quieras y puedas. No te pediré que hagas nada en particular porque somos una familia y juntos lavamos los platos, compramos la comida con el mismo dinero de la pizzería que repartimos entre todos los que estamos allí. También cocinamos, limpiamos, plantamos, pintamos o simplemente vamos a la cascada a bañarnos, tocamos música, bailamos, fumamos o jugamos algún juego de mesa, andamos en bicicleta, salimos a caminar. A veces también vamos por nuestro camino para estar solos... Como en una verdadera familia.
