    Description

    I bought a ooooooooooold school in 2023:)))))))))))))

This is going to be my cabin that I want to use it for painting and sculpting.
My favorite thing to do is creating and that sometimes brings me into situations that includes a lot of work, like this school. My vision is to turn this into my art sanctuary.

The old school is situated in Melfjordbotn, with its magnificent mountains, with cold waters to swim in -and at the same time drink from. It is cleansing, refreshing and cold, but wonderful. It is only a kilometer from the fjord also if you want to fish or swim in seawater. The mountain that we need to pass to go there is closed in the winter som this is only used in the period from may to end of november.

The accomodations in the cabin is not fantastic yet, so we will sleep in rooms that might not be finished when you arrive. But we will try to finish it before you arrive. You will have a good bed to lie in and we will go back and forth between home and the cabin. At home you have good accomodations and your own big bed.

If you like hiking, and doing different things this is for you.

When we are home I can teach you how to paint, so you can bring your own painting home and keep it as a memory of Norway for the rest of your life. Or if you want to learn or develope your drawing skills you can get help with that to.

The house I live in, In Hemnesberget is located 200 meters from the bay and has a beautiful sea view. Hemnesberget is a small village of about 1,300 people. We have local shops, 1 cafe, 1 clothing store, thrift store, fitness center, chair manufacturer, boat dealers and boat builder businesses.

If you like to sit and dangle your legs on the pier, you can just wander down a small hill, and you are there. If you want to climbe mountains they are also within walking distance. In the winter it is fantastic for skiing and Northern Light excursions. It is also possibilities to fish on the ice:)

We have wonderful nature around us and I personally love all the different shifts in the weather. There are opportunities for bicycling, both on the road and in the mountain. Opportunities for walks in the mountains is everywhere. We have possibilities for swimming and fishing both in the fjord and in local lakes. So if you like to move in nature this is really a great place. In the winter the northern lights is dancing over our heads and it is a lot dark, also during tha day. In the summer it never gets dark, you can go walking in the Woods and only the temperature and the sounds in nature will tell you that it is night.

We also have music festivals here on site, which is a goooood for all music lovers. We have an active jazz club here which hosts concerts once a month just down the street.

The whole house is filled with art from top to bottom and if you want you can paint or draw with me in the weekends or evenings:) My real work is art teacher, in two different schools.

I will try my best to make sure you eat well and that your stay here is as good as possible. But your tasks can be walking the dogs, cleaning the house, stacking wood, trimming the lawn, doing the garden - helping out in every area nessesairy:)

Milo is my cat. He is a friendly soul, cuddly and happily warms you, and sleep on your lap if you need company. He also keeps the mouse and bird populations in the area under control. I also have two dogs Hera, and Asissi, her doughter, both Welch Corgi Pembroke. They are friendly and playful souls. They can vary from noisy cracy dog to a cuddely soft "teddybear". Depends on wether they are playing or not.

Otherwise, it's not far to the city of Mo i Rana (30 min drive) or Mosjøen (1 hour drive) and Sandnessjøen (1,5 hours drive).
It is also not far to the airport (45 min drive). Train station (15 min drive) if it is necessary to use. 1,5 hour drive to Melfjordbotn and the school.

I am talkative, sometimes loud, mostly happy and grateful. I like to recieve people who are openminded, responsable and selfgoing and quick learners:)) I also prefer non smokers :))
I say what I mean, but I want the best for you too. So dont be afraid, im not dangerous:)) I like that people are true, direct and concious and take responsability for themselves. I do not like exuses, blaming others etc.
I am used to have people from all over the world so you will be fine:)) And I love to get to know you and what you have experienced and about your life and interests.

The motto of Yvonne "Be a deliberate creator of your own life instead of an unconscious victim of your own circumstances":))) We are all creating our own lives all the time, concioussly and unconciously.
What do you want to create and be a part of in your life? Do you want to use a part of your life experiencing Norway and Melfjordbotn and Hemnesberget? Then you are probably welcome::::))))))))))))))

You can learn some Norwegian if you want or just practice your English.

You can meditate with me or get a treatment/massage/healing on the massagebench.

Go hiking with me and the dogs, and be in contact with all kind of weather, so bring outdoor clothing.

All our workawayers loves the dogs because the dogs love cuddeling and love everybody who comes for a visite, so you will never have a cold lap here, there will always be a dog on your lap warming you with love and affection or a cat.

You can get to know us and a little about Norwegan culture.

If i go visit my friends i use to take workawayers with me so you can meet others to. Can bo to friends with horses, on a boatride on the fjord, going to the city or other places I need to be.

In the summer it is daylight all night so that is probably also a nice experience for you. Bring something to put on your eyes if you can not sleep when it is light:)

In the winter you can experience Aurora borealis, seeing moose, foxes and deer if you are a early bird or up late:)

You can also see some small wales swimming around the Hemnes island if you are lucky. Orcas have been here to but that is rather rare.

If you want to learn how to ski I can show you.

I can teach you to paint or draw.
You can go to the festivals in my willage if you are here in the summer and other happenings in the winter.

Most Norwegians speek english so it will not be a problem to communicate with the locals here if you want to talk to someone. Most people are friendly and talkative.

I looooooooooooooooooooooove Norway, every time of the year, in rain, in snow, in summertime, when its cold and when it is warm. Soooo if you want to join us you are welcome. Be prepared, the wether changes quickly here in this region, and that is what i love about it. If i wanted to live somewhere that is warm all the time, northern Norway is not where i would choose to live. When that is said, i is also warm here in the summer, ik can be around 25-30 degrees or warmer, in the shadow, last summer was actually too warm, with a lot of temperature of 30 degrees in the shadow for a looooong time. It can also be very cold in the winter so -15 or -25 is not unusual. The beauty of this region is worth it all:)) In the winter the light is totally different in its blues, violettes, pink an beautiful snowy landscapes. The summer is forever light and it gets darker in the evening in August.

When we are home in Hemnesberget, I need someone who can help with day to day tasks, it can b be helping in the garden, walking the dogs, shuffling snow .... helping out with the daily life.

In Melfjorden we will be more outside in the garden if the weather allows it. For the rest it is day to day tasks, walking the dogs and what ever the daily life requires.

In addition to this i want to say something else here:

I prefere people who are safe in their own skin and who does not have a depression or is very homesick. I am very happy if you arrive and just "clame your space" instead of feeling rejected, left out, thinking that your wellbeeing is someoneelses responsability. It is also important that you are happy in your own company, and that you are able to coop with the fact that I do not always speak english when I have my family or friends over. Not all of them are comfortable speaking english. I will try to talk as mush english as possible. If I sometimes forget, feel free to remind me.

I have also had people here that has told me that they know a lot about something and have a lot of skills, but when they arrive, it turns out that they dont. Please just tell me what you actually know, I dont expect you to be a genious in every area who knows everything. I only ask that you dont promise something you can not keep. So because of people coming under false pretences, I always evaluate if this compaionship works out or not. It has to be a win win situation for you and for me. Hope you understand that. If this works out you can stay for a month or longer when it suits us all:))

I have had men contacting me who wants to help me and stay for a long time, but when they start talking about getting into a relationship and ask to share my bed, or marry me if everything works out, I dont want that. Ill say it right now. I am not looking for a relationship. So im just elliminating that possibilitie right now. This is not a dating site.

This is a place for people who genuinely want to contribute in building something that will benefit many for many years to come. Someting artistic, something holistic and close to nature and its presence. Are you that person, that man?? Then you are probably welcome.

    At home :
We have wonderful nature around us and our house has a sea view and is located right by the bay.

We have opportunities for walks in the mountains for days if you want.

There are swimming and fishing possibilities both in the fjord and in local lakes. So if you like to move around in nature, to see moose, deer, and have a holiday as well, this is really a great place to be.

Hera and Asissi(The dogs) and me, also go for walks under the stars in the forest so it might also be a nice peaceful experience for you to come with us. It is really beautiful in the wintertime when the moon casts its light upon us and the stars are shining bright. We also get visits from Aurora borealis in the winter and that is a beautiful experience to:))

A lot of the workawayers are thrilled about encountering Moose and other wildlife, especially now in the winter.
In summer there are also 2 music festivals here in Hemnesberget.

We have an active jazz club here which host concerts once a month just down the street. You can also eat in the local restaurant just down the road if you need to. .

In the winter we have a local xmas market and i also bring all my students here one weekend every year. When they are here we make a lot of xmaspresents, cards, cookies etc... People who have attended this from workaway, have been very excited by this and has found a lot of joy in joining us:))

Soooooooooooooooooooooooo.....We have it all:))) .............In a small scale:)

    In Melfjordbotn:

Brutal, fabulous mountains, beautiful possibilities to hike and experiense the land without a lot of noises from cars.
The water here is much more salty than at home even though this also is a fjord, this one is only much closer to the ocean.
i love that there are so many birds and Dragonflies here. It is meditation just listening to the waterfalls faar away and the birds singing. If i sit in my cair reading, Dragonflies can land on my head, on the chair, on other parts of the body. Its like they get to know the ones staying here. But there is also a lot of muskitoes so bring something for that.

Here it is possible to go fishing, get to know the lokals, you might be invited on a boat trip.

This place is much more quiet than in Hemnesberget, so if you like the sounds of nature this is a wonderful spot.
