Description
Welcome to our small, family-run farm nestled in the beautiful Wells Gray region of British Columbia, where we're creating a unique Viking-inspired, off-grid agritourism destination.
Our vision is to combine sustainable farming, environmental stewardship, and unforgettable visitor experiences. Through our Hearth & Hive initiative, we're developing pollinator gardens, educational programs, apiary experiences, farm tours, and hands-on opportunities for guests to connect with nature. We raise chickens, keep honeybees, grow seasonal gardens, bake sourdough, and are preparing to welcome guests to our glamping accommodations.
We're looking for enthusiastic people who enjoy meaningful work, learning new skills, and becoming part of a creative project that's growing year by year. If you love nature, animals, gardening, building, hospitality, and sharing ideas around a campfire, we'd love to meet you! -

Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre
We believe the best cultural exchange happens through meaningful conversations, shared experiences, and meeting people from all over the world. Throughout the summer we welcome visitors from many different countries to enjoy our Viking-inspired off-grid agritourism experience, giving Workawayers the opportunity to interact with guests and share in the welcoming atmosphere of the farm. While we enjoy spending time together, we also value personal space and independence. There will be opportunities to help alongside us, learn about beekeeping, gardening, chickens, pollinators, agritourism and rural life in British Columbia, but there is also plenty of time to explore the Wells Gray region or relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. We love hearing about different cultures, traditions, languages and ideas, and encourage Workawayers to share their own experiences with both us and our guests. Our hope is that everyone leaves with new skills, lasting friendships and a genuine connection to this beautiful part of Canada.

Aide
Every day is a little different here! Depending on the season and your interests, you may help care for our chickens and honeybees, tend vegetable and pollinator gardens, assist with general farm maintenance, prepare glamping accommodations for guests, help with cleaning and landscaping, harvest produce, and lend a hand with creative projects as we continue developing our Viking-inspired agritourism destination. We also welcome help with photography, social media, woodworking, painting, building small projects, and creating educational displays for our Hearth & Hive pollinator initiative. We enjoy working alongside our guests, sharing meals, teaching new skills, and creating a fun, respectful environment where everyone contributes to bringing the farm to life.
We're looking for positive people, self-motivated, enjoy working outdoors, and aren't afraid to get their hands dirty or create things that weren't there before. Experience isn't necessary—we're happy to teach. We request that you bring a strong work ethic, passion for the help, creative ideas, curiosity, a good attitude, and a willingness to learn. We feel these skills are far more important than knowing everything already.
While there is always work to do on a farm, we believe in balancing productive days with time to explore Wells Gray, relax around the campfire, and enjoy the incredible beauty of rural British Columbia.

Hébergement
Workawayers will stay in one of our beautifully furnished glamping tents, nestled beside the river in our peaceful Viking Vale. This is one of the most sought-after locations on the property, offering a quiet, relaxing space surrounded by nature—perfect for unwinding after a day on the farm. The tent features a real bed with comfortable bedding, outdoor seating, a picnic table, and your own outdoor camp kitchen for preparing meals. Shared washroom facilities are available nearby. Evenings are often spent listening to the river, watching the stars, or enjoying the tranquility of the surrounding forest. It's a unique opportunity to experience comfortable off-grid living in one of British Columbia's most beautiful rural settings. You WILL see the Northern Lights at times and one clear nights the stars are amazing.

Autres infos...
We're building something special here, and we're looking for people who are excited to be part of that journey. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys nature, creativity, learning new skills, and contributing ideas. We value kindness, respect, initiative, and open communication. There is always plenty to do, but we also believe in taking time to enjoy a beautiful sunset, listen to the river, or explore Wells Gray Provincial Park on your days off. As an introverted family, we appreciate a balance between working together and having our own personal space, and we strive to create an environment where everyone feels comfortable and at home. If you're looking for a meaningful experience, enjoy meeting visitors from around the world, and would like to help build a unique Viking-inspired agritourism destination from the ground up, we'd love to hear from you.
A driver's licence and your own vehicle are an asset but not essential. There is a bus within walking distance that can take you to the closest town with shopping. Because we're located in a rural area, applicants should be comfortable living close to nature and working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. -

Possibilité d’accueillir les digital nomads
We welcome digital nomads! Our schedule is flexible, and we're happy to work around reasonable online work commitments as long as we communicate and plan together. We understand that many Workawayers are balancing remote work with travel, and we value reliability and flexibility on both sides. Because we're located in a peaceful rural setting, This is a wonderful place to focus, create, and recharge. Wi-Fi is available, and you'll have your own private glamping accommodation where you can work or relax during your free time. We simply ask that agreed-upon farm responsibilities are completed and that everyone communicates openly so we can plan the week together. We believe in balance. There are busy days on the farm, but there is also time to enjoy the river, explore Wells Gray Provincial Park, meet visitors from around the world, and experience life at a slower pace.

Espace pour garer des vans
In addition to our glamping accommodations, the location offers four spacious dry RV sites, each thoughtfully positioned to take advantage of the incredible mountain and valley views that make this area so special. Every site includes a picnic table, BBQ, and a private fire pit (when seasonal fire restrictions allow), creating the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring Wells Gray or helping on the farm. As these are unserviced sites, campers and motorhomes should arrive self-contained. Fresh water is available near the property from a creek ( where we source our water), and guests will need to periodically refill their water tanks and empty black and grey tanks at nearby service facilities. If you're looking for peaceful surroundings, stunning scenery, and a true off-grid farm experience rather than a traditional RV park, you'll feel right at home here.
