4 acres in a small rural market town in the Charente, France

  Description

  We are an Australian couple who have retired to live in France. We prefer the semi-rural lifestyle that we have in the beautiful warm, sunny Charente. We live in a small town on a 4 acre piece of land with a large old renovated house on the La Lien with a 10 minutes walk to the Mairie. We have a train station in town. There is a beautiful swimming area with, in summer, cafe and canoes 30 minutes walk or 10 minutes on the pushbikes. We are doing work on our house, and getting the grounds and fruit, vege, and flower gardens established and cleaned up. You don't need any particular skills, just a willing attitude, and a healthy appetite, and we love our food!. We have pushbikes and a car that you can use. Angouleme and Poitier are 45 minutes on the TER while Paris, Tours and Bordeaux are about 2 1/2 hours on the TER and TGV. The town has all amenities including supermarkets, brico, bars and cafes. There is a separate self contained gite attached if you wish. We would prefer that our helpers stay for at least a fortnight. Thanks!!

  The boulangeries, patisseries, and cafes are 15 minutes walk. The train station is 15 minutes walk away. There is a beautiful swimming area with cafe and canoes 20 minutes walk or 10 minutes on pushbikes. Angouleme and Poitier are 45 minutes on the TER while Paris, Tours and Bordeaux are about 2 to 2 1/2 hours on the TER and TGV.
