I absolutely loved hosting Saby! She took care of my 18-year-old cat, Luka, and my apartment in NYC while I was traveling in Mexico for a week. We explored the city together, watched movies, and had great conversations—I truly feel like I gained a friend. She's welcome back anytime, and I wholeheartedly recommend her to other hosts!

This was my first workaway experience and I am so glad it was with Aluxe and luca.
Aluxe had exceptional music taste which I was so suprised of! He is also an incredibly conversational and open minded person, respectful and had a good sense of humor, always in a happy mood.

He took me to see some cool places like brooklyn bridge and some beautiful cafes and was so kind to take pictures of me which where so good. Im so my glad we became good friends and can't wait to visit him again !!!

It was such a great experience hosting Brennin. She is super responsible, clean, and just a wonderful person all around. She really helped me take care of my 17-year-old cat. I think she is a cat whisperer because my cat seems to have dementia and almost always meows at night, which can be a challenge since he wakes everyone up at around 4 AM. But
… read more somehow, when Brennin was here, he was on his best behavior ever and hardly even meowed at night. I am pretty sure it had to do with Brennin being around since she connected instantly with my cat, gave him a lot of attention, and he always slept on her bed.
Brennin is also an amazing human being: very caring, self-aware, fun, super social and friendly. I really enjoyed all the conversations I had with her and learning about her super cool life in Brussels and travel plans. We also did some sightseeing together in New York, which was very nice. I highly recommend Brennin to the best hosts, and she is always welcome back to my place!

I had a very nice week staying at Rodrigo’s place. Rodrigo is such a sweet and kind-hearted person! He made me feel so welcome, and we had a blast doing fun things together. … read more ai art to the world political order. Luka the cat is a sweety. Perhaps a bit aloof, but only because he's so majestic in his old age! I couldn't help but paint a few digital portraits of him during my stay. He's also quite a tidy cat, so the work is minimal. If you are considering cat sitting for Aluxe, I say go for it! … read more been to so many places and has tons of stories to share. Every day she would come back from exploring NYC, and we would have the most incredible conversations for hours on end. Her stories about her travels to Brazil, Peru, Costa Rica, Panama, Cape Town, Morocco, Australia, and many other places were fascinating. She also shared many wonderful stories about her friend Marina, who sounds like an amazing person too.
During her stay, Magda helped me take care of my two cats, and she was very responsible, and did an amazing job taking care of them.
Magda is a super friendly, warm, curious, kind, funny and interesting person all around and I highly recommend her to other hosts. I feel that I made a great friend just from the few days that I hosted her. I wish she had stayed longer because I enjoyed her company so much and missed her the moment she left.

I stayed a few days with Rodrigo and had such a great and unforgettable time in NY.
Rodrigo is such an easy going, kind, helpful and funny person.
Everything was how expected, I helped him in the morning with the cats a bit -which is no effort at all and I had always the rest of the day time to explore NY city.

I cannot recommend Julia highly enough! She stayed at my apartment in NYC for a week and helped me take care of my two cats. Julia was an absolute joy to host, as she is incredibly responsible, warm, friendly, funny and very intelligent. She attended to her duties with great care every day, and my cats seemed to really like her as they slept on

But Julia's positive qualities go far beyond her pet-sitting skills. We had the most amazing conversations every day, ranging from politics to AI to quantum physics. I was blown away by her knowledge and insight, even though she is quite young. She has a real passion for learning and exploring new ideas, and it was an absolute pleasure to learn from her.
Overall, Julia is an exceptional person who would be an asset to any host. She is kind, thoughtful, and an absolute joy to be around. I can't recommend her highly enough and would welcome her back to NYC anytime!

I stayed with Rodrigo and his two sweet cats (of whom one is a grumpy and one a sweetie but they are both super cute) for a whole week. And honestly? It was amazing.
Even though Rodrigo was a bit sick in the beginning he welcomed me super warmly into his home, showed me where I would sleep and quickly explained the tasks I should do, which, even
… read more though I did them on multiple occasions during the day, took up… maybe 5-10 minutes. It’s super easy and not at all repayment enough for the amazing stay with him.
His flat is only a minute away from the metro and in a safe area close to a trader Joe’s and a variety of takeouts which makes it extremely easy to get whatever food you would want and then explore the city, which was what I usually did during the day. Normally I would wake up very early, make myself some breakfast, go for a run and come back when Rodrigo was getting ready for his work. In the evening we always had incredibly interesting discussions about a wide variety of topics starting with AI, politics or philosophy and ending up at the horribleness of Bananas. 😂 We even went out and got delicious dumplings once and Rodrigo helped me with everything I could have ever asked for.
In conclusion:
This was my first Workaway experience and it was incredible. I wish I would have stayed longer since there are way to many things we didn’t get to discuss/ do and it was super fun being in New York and getting to hang out with someone es awesome as Rodrigo. He is the guy you want to be friends with, the one who has been to the coolest things and has a million stories to tell.

The work was super easy and highly flexible and the cats are totally darling. One of them is a little bit shy, but once they get to know you they're warm and social and add greatly to the welcoming atmosphere of Rodrigo's home.
