  Hello
  We are a family of four living in Riverview, in the suburbs of North Shore Sydney. We're originally from the UK, but emigrated here to enjoy the Australian life! We are used to hosting family, friends, exchange students and au pairs and have just hosted our first workawayers - a lovely German couple who also stayed with friends of ours in Cairns.
  Riverview is a beautiful leafy suburb and our house backs onto a reserve leading down to the harbour. There are good bus links direct to Sydney from Riverview and through Lane Cove and ferries from nearby Greenwich. Lane Cove also has a fantastic public sports centre, library, supermarkets, cafes and restaurants.
  We have a large deck overlooking the bush and are often visited by lorikeets, kookaburras, cockatoos and king parrots. It's very peaceful and you can't believe you're only a few kilometres from the city.

  We love hearing about travelling and backpacking - having done our fair share of adventures before settling down!
  Our kids are both planning gap years once they finish school, so it's great for them to hear what others are doing.
  Lane Cove has lots of opportunities to get involved in the local community through programs at the library, and one-off talks, lectures, activities. There are also opportunities to play pickleball, tennis and badminton at the new Galuwa centre and swimming & gym classes at the Lane Cove sport centre.

  Available dates: From 12 Oct - 1 Nov.
  We are keen to find a couple who would like to help us with landscaping in the garden.
  Paul will be helping set out the tasks each day and help alongside you at times - with some help from Alex too!
  Tasks will include: painting external brick walls, moving soil from planters, helping to build garden steps, grouting sandstone rock walls etc.

  We have a separate downstairs living area which you will have to yourselves. You'll have your own twin/double room on the lower floor of the house, along with your own lounge (with smart TV) and own bathroom (shower).
  We can give you a key to the patio doors downstairs, so that you can come and go as you please.
  We sit down at the dining table to eat as a family every night, and would like to invite you to join us - if you're heading out to explore Sydney, we can leave food in the fridge for later or whatever suits.
  
  We will supply breakfast, lunch and dinner.
  Eat with us, or help yourself from fridge & cupboards for breakfast & lunch (or take a picnic if you're heading off to explore)
  I'll usually cook dinner and we all sit together, or can leave a portion for you in fridge if you're out and want to eat later on.

  Available dates: From 12 Oct - 1 Nov.
  Ideally, you'd work during the week each day 8.00am-1.00pm (5 hours) and then could have the afternoons & weekends off to explore Sydney. We can give you loads of ideas of places to go and what to see & do.
  
  If you have a car, it's very easy to drive to the nearest ferry or park your car in Lane Cove to catch the bus into town.
  Otherwise, it's a 20 min walk up to Lane Cove interchange bus stop (or if you time it well, you can catch a bus from Riverview).
  The express bus from Lane Cove is only one stop into Wynyard station in the centre of Sydney.
  Buses also go down the Pacific highway, so you can get to a Metro station or train station too.

  We have a desk in the bedroom that you'd be using - along with a large monitor screen, so you could use that. Ideally you'd work mornings with us, then have afternoon/evening free for your own work.
