  We are a young family living in Noordhoek on the beautiful South Peninsula of Cape Town, South Africa. We have two children, Isla is 5 and Remy is 2 years old. My name is Mike and I am a digital creative. My wife's name is Sam and she runs her own wholesale home decor company called Unearthed.

  The South Peninsula, or "Deep South" as it is fondly known, is renowned for its nature based activities and chilled vibe. You are pretty much wedged between mountain and sea wherever you go, with beautiful beaches, relaxed suburbs and interesting shops and restaurants all around.
  
  We live in the peaceful neighbourhood of Noordhoek, specifically San Michel, set against the mountain, with the sea in the distance.
  
  If you enjoy surfing, hiking, kite boarding or just chilling on the beach, this area has so much to offer.
  
  You can also enjoy the many other sights and attractions in Cape Town, like Table Mountain, the Waterfront and Cape Point.
  
  To be honest, you'll probably benefit more if you have your own car, as many of the local attractions require some driving. But if not, you can use Uber. Otherwise you are welcome to join us on our various and frequent outings.

  Aide

  Because we have two young children and we both work, we need help with childcare and a little bit around the house. We also have a dog and some chickens, so help looking after the animals would also be appreciated.
  
  You will need your own car to take and collect kids from school and previous childcare experience is essential.

  We live in a lovely, spacious house in the San Michel suburb of Noordhoek, which is a laidback area close to the beach and the mountains (perfect for nature lovers).
  
  For our volunteer, we offer a comfortable room with ensuite bathroom, which is separate from the main house in the backyard, so you can enjoy some privacy and have your own space. The room includes a double bed, small desk and cupboards.
  
  We're mostly vegetarian, although we're open to whatever your dietary preferences are.

  Gold Fish (2 mois)

  We have four gold fish, which require feeding every few days and to check the cleanliness of the tank.

  

  Four chickens and a duck (2 ans)

  We have four egg laying hens and a duck in the backyard. Very easy to look after - they basically look after themselves except for a few cups of corn and fresh water everyday and they appreciate kitchen scraps. Steady supply of fresh eggs!

  Sweet, little tabby

  

  Yoda (6 ans)

  Beautiful, sweet, little Africanus, called Yoda because of his pointy ears (when they're up).
