  Description

  We, Pete & Brigitte, moved into our house, in very peaceful S W France countryside in August 2016. The house was finished but the garden was a blank canvas. We have built a vegetable patch and several flowerbeds, all of which need a bit of 'tlc'. 2 'tasks' we need help with : shutter revamp and field fencing. Then we'd love to give the stables a freshen-up with a lick of paint. I have owned horses for many years and am very happy to impart my knowledge. We have 4 horses and 3 very friendly dogs. 2 of the horses are rideable by an experienced person.

  Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre

  Those that do not speak English can learn a foreign language. Understand how the French equestrian scene works. Learn some French (Brigitte is bilingual). Enjoy some peaceful time away.
  Visit to local places of interest.

  Aide

  What we need : Somebody/ies that will join in. There is weeding and mowing that needs to be done. Small stone wall building and flower beds to be maintained.
  Our horses are competition horses, we need somebody that is very competent when handling and riding. We also need somebody that is willing to poo pick, jump on the muckheap and sweep. Grooming if we go to a competition.
  Some building maintenance help needed – the wooden shutters need rubbing down and repainting, Field fencing needs a revamp - not sure how we will do it so ideas always welcome.
  We will definitely not ask anybody to do anything that we would not do ourselves.
  
  The accommodation : A room with double bed, ensuite with shower. Sofa and french TV. Private access available.
  
  The situation : We live on the crest of a hill, over 1km from any neighbours and 8km from the nearest shops. If you are looking for peace and quiet in a newly converted barn with awesome views then we can offer you that and more.

  Most of a volunteers time off would be spent enjoying the peace and quiet. We are very active in and around the property.
  Plenty of opportunity to go for a walk in undulating wooded countryside.
