  Description

  Simon and Jim live in the rainforest near Byron Bay. The property is close to the town of Mullumbimby - but is a wilderness sometimes only accessed by 4wd due to 13 river crossings. We are interested in your story as well as your help restoring the natural habitat, some garden work and general property / forest maintenance. If you would like to experience the unique something a little rare, pure water to drink and surrounded by natural diversity you would like this place. National park on boundary, waterfalls and swimming spots. Good food, friendly hosts and locals, private rooms, wifi with good standard accommodation. If you are visiting this area the best of the weather here (for working) tends to be from April until June.

  An introduction to the local environment and natural history while inhabiting and helping to sustain unique (and rare) remnant rainforest ecosystem, current overview of local bush regeneration and conservation policies - from recent success to past disaster!.
  
  You will see a lot of unique wildlife, and be amazed by the sounds and biodiversity of the bush here. Close enough to ‘where it all goes on’ yet isolated from man made lights and sound

  Aide

  Building and maintaining frog habitat, forest regeneration, oiling timber work and decks, adding to accommodation infrastructure, garden maintenance. Then take a dip in the river, sit back to enjoy the beauty of your achievements from the house, and exchange a story.

  Double rooms (couples welcome) shared bathrooms, wifi, indoor and outdoor cooking facilities plenty of chill out space and covered decks for smokers. Separate catering facilities for vegans and specialised eaters (Or by your own choice!)

  2wd access can be tricky (in wet weather). Hosts can provide transport to access busy local entertainment and beach camp sites. We can supply some camping equipment or you can relax on the property with us and our friends. We often take off camping also and you are welcome to join us.
