    Description

We welcome respectful persons who wants to integrate Permaculture practices in there lifes.and likes the kids, cause they are really important part of all this.
We are living on a 2 hectare big land on a hill near to Mazunte, Oaxaca. The land is dominated by wild forest with integrated gardens and buildings.
We arrived to this land in 2014 and are working since then continuously here. All we do we try to do by ourselfs and with the help of volunteers.

We are from Mexico and Germany, and a brother from Germany and we have kids 2 dog and two cats.
Our vision is to establish a base for practical knowledge to experience alternative methods to live without causing any harm to our environment. To leave our poisons behind and find our roots in the earth.
We are not a community, we just share the space the land the nature the conocimiento with persons that are interested to learn and share experience conocimiento with respect to the mother earth.

We have the comunal.house for volunatarios.
Our project is to build a space open for different events as workshops, retreat, cultural interchange, and an botanic garden preserving the local flora.

We are hoping to hold our first Bio construction workshop by the end of 2018 and we are slowly opening up to local indigenous communities around us for different projects with them as teaching in local schools or creating woman cooperatives to produce organic food products for city markets and even export. We do need a lot of help in the last one.

The further meaning for us here is to gain practical knowledge and working methods for being sustainable so we can use these as we return some day to the continent of the natives: Africa. We found Mexico a good place for this purpose because there is a lot to learn from the ancient culture of Mexican – natives an there is good infrastructure were one can buy for example building materials and tools that in Africa would be rather difficult to obtain.

What do we understand under Permaculture:
Permaculture as we see it has not so much to do with expensive courses and modern words but more with the experience of living in natural friendly community’s in harmony with other people.
For us Permaculture was not invented by Bill Molison, he just created a new word for a very old thing! Permaculture was first practiced in Africa for many thousand years ago, today the remaining native population has the widest and most develop wisdom of permaculture! Our modern lifestyle increases the loss of that wisdom!
We recommend people interested in learn more about permaculture to travel to small villages and family’s outside touristic areas and learn about their lives and culture rather than theoretic courses of theoretic teachers!

Travelers can learn to build in a natural friendly way, buildings with materials that mother nature gives us in any place of this planet, respecting the harmony and natural energy flow , to build ovens, solar dryers, fero-cement tanks and even tree houses.
One can learn about wild local plants and their uses, as well as growing plants in the nursery and how to plant a tree in this special climate.
Our Project is specialized on water harvesting and we gladly share our experiences. Our land has artificial lake that can hold up to 700 m3 of rainwater that we harvest with a system of counter lines and protected river beds over about one hectar.

Our location is just outside of Mazunte on a hill. The last 1 km to our home is only reachable by 4 wheel drive.
From the land it is possible to see Punta Cometa, the beach of Ventanilla and the sun setting in the sea.
Please bring only complete organic shampoo, soap and repellents. This is very important since in the pool that is also used for swimming there are fishes to control the mosquitos. Please bring just organic Sun Protector, we have earth at the land!
Also please don’t bring any food that is not organic.
Don’t bring any trash like plastic, tetra packs and so far...
If you are about to bring animals please ask before doing so!

We are also working on different projects with indiginous villages around us . Our volunteers also can engage in those activities if they chose to, this is an amazing opportunity for them to connect to the real mexican ancestral roots.

Some of our areas of interest and possible projects with local communities:

Identification and local uses of medicinal and edible plants around the area.
    Building with natural materials...
Reality, future and history of the local Corns and the Milpa (the community of maize and other plants).
Water harvesting for the land population.
The integration of the Moringa in the local Milpas.
Ways of protecting plants from ants without killing the insects
Producing Penaut Butter, Tahini, dehidrated fruits for export

    ...
