This is a non-profit empowering learners in school with life skills and fundamental entrepreneurship skills to improve their livelihoods and influence them to focus on innovation instead of just earning certificates from schools to look for jobs. We work with all education stakeholders to inspire the creation of student-led enterprises right from the grass-root. We work with the community, education institutions, teachers and learners. Please message us if you are interested in working with us.

Volunteers will get the chance to work with youths and share their amazing life stories and learn about Ugandan culture whilst working on wonderful projects. They will also enjoy a warm and friendly work environment whilst creating long-lasting relationships that will go far beyond their stay with us.
• Mentoring students with the aid of our team.
• We welcome professionals from all walks of life to share life and job skills and success tips for the benefit of our youths.
• Training students using your own experience to influence transformation from a fixed to a growth mindset in order to revive hope and self-efficacy.
• All learners in school have a different vision, your experience and achievements will support them to have a clearer line of focus and spur them towards a more successful life.
We also need support with marketing and teacher training, photography and videography as well as administration.

It is a modern 3 bedroom house with easy access to water, electricity and internet. We are still doing some improvements to the place with some house finishing works still ongoing.
Our address is very close to the main road. Workawayers will be provided with a private room with a bunker bed in the same house as the hosts in Nkoowe (Wakiso), on the outskirts of the capital city, Kampala. Also available is someone on hand to help with all the laundry, cooking and cleaning. Meals are mainly local dishes with a mixture of some foreign dishes. We also look forward to learning how to cook some of your favourite traditional dishes.
There are plenty of hangout spots and community cultural events for volunteers to relax during their time off including the big five, bird watching, Chimpanzee and gorilla trekking, or simply hang out in Kampala or the neighbouring areas, depending on your budget. Uganda is home to the Source of the Nile in Jinja, several beaches, mountains and national parks. We will assist you in organising an affordable safari.
Transport around Kampala is mainly by 14-seater "taxis". From the airport, we advise that you make arrangements for us to pick you up. It's about 2 hours drive from the airport during rush hours and maybe less during normal hours of the day.
VISA INFORMATION
Most visitors to Uganda need to obtain a visa including Europeans, Americans and nationals from Commonwealth countries such as New Zealand, Canada, Australia, and the UK.
Volunteers are advised to obtain a tourist visa to enter Uganda. Upon arrival, you will fill out a visa application form which you will submit alongside payment of 100 USD (exact sum) to receive your visa. Acquiring the Visa upon arrival is cheaper but we advise you to get it ONLINE.
Where visitors seek to stay longer than the period granted on arrival, an extension of the period should be sought from the Immigration Headquarters in Kampala before the expiry of the initial visitor’s pass.
Nationals from the following countries may not be required to pay for a visa to enter Uganda: Angola, Antigua, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Burundi, Comoros, Cyprus, Eritrea, Fiji, Gambia, Grenada, Italy (Diplomatic Passport holders only), Jamaica, Ireland, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Malta, Mauritius, Madagascar, Rwanda, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Solomon Islands, St. Vincent and Grenadines, Swaziland, Tanzania, Tonga, Vanuatu, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Nationals of these countries are issued gratis (free) visas upon their arrival.
For further information regarding this, please contact the relevant authorities in your country before travelling.
Passport:
You need a valid passport, one that is expiring at least 6 months from the date you enter Uganda.
• Sufficient Funds: No amount is currently specified by the immigration, but having a Credit Card is good enough evidence to convince the immigration officer that you have enough money with you. The cost of living is generally friendly so you do not need a huge budget unless you plan to go do some tourism, especially gorilla trekking and the national parks.
Immunisation and tests:
You are required to present negative PCR covid-19 results upon arrival along with proof of yellow fever vaccination.
Sim cards:
You can get a sim card from any of the local service providers, usually MTN or Africell for about $1. You simply present your passport to be able to complete the process.
Language:
The main languages spoken here are English and Luganda.

We welcome digital nomads. We currently work from home and have a good WIFI connection (4G) but digital nomads will be requested to contribute to their data needs as the internet is still a big challenge in Uganda. The average cost for 20 GB is around $14 for most ISPs. We do not have an unlimited connection but can manage 20 GB each month. You are welcome to contribute to the costs for anything greater than that. We have a good working space and you can always work on your projects once in your free time and we will also be happy to offer you a hand if needed.
Workawayers coming with campervans are welcome. We have a bit of space for parking but can only host one such family at a time. Feel free to let us know if you intend to come with a van or other vehicle so that we can make all the necessary arrangements early.
We have two dogs and can happily welcome Workawayers with dogs, cats or birds. For other animals, please let us know prior to visiting so that we can make arrangements.
