Description
We are a non-profit organisation based in Uganda working with students and partner schools to empower young people with life skills, creativity, leadership, and entrepreneurship skills that can improve their future livelihoods.
Our goal is to encourage young people to think beyond simply earning certificates and searching for jobs. We inspire students to become innovative, confident, and solution-oriented by helping them develop practical skills, self-belief, and an entrepreneurial mindset from an early age.
We work closely with schools, teachers, learners, parents, and local communities to support the growth of student-led ideas and small enterprises at the grassroots level. We believe young people have great potential when they are given guidance, encouragement, and the right environment to grow.
We enjoy cultural exchange and love meeting people from different backgrounds who are passionate about education, community work, creativity, and youth empowerment. Volunteers become part of a warm and friendly environment where ideas, experiences, and cultures are shared openly.
If you are interested in working with us and supporting young people in the community, we would love to hear from you.

Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre
Volunteers will have the chance to work closely with young people from our partner schools and local communities, exchange ideas, and share experiences from different cultures and backgrounds.
They will learn more about daily life and culture in Uganda while taking part in meaningful community projects and activities. Volunteers can also learn local customs, food, simple local languages, and the way people live and work together in the community.
We aim to create a warm, friendly, and supportive environment where people feel at home, build genuine friendships, and create memories and connections that continue long after their stay with us.
Aide
Volunteers can support us in different ways depending on their skills, experience, and interests. Much of the work involves encouraging and supporting young people through learning, mentorship, and personal development activities.
Some of the ways volunteers can help include:
- Mentoring and encouraging students together with our local team.
- Sharing life experiences, career advice, and practical skills with young people.
- Supporting activities that help students build confidence, self-belief, leadership skills, and a growth mindset.
- Helping learners think about their future goals, education, and career opportunities.
- Assisting with creative learning activities, discussions, games, and workshops.
We also welcome volunteers who can support us with:
- Marketing and social media
- Photography and videography
- Teacher training and education support
- Administration and organisation
- Content creation and storytelling
- Basic computer or digital skills training
We value cultural exchange and fresh ideas, so even if your background is different, there are many ways your experience and perspective can positively impact the students and community.

Hébergement
We live in a comfortable 3-bedroom house with access to water and electricity. We are still making a few improvements and finishing some parts of the home, but the space is welcoming and relaxed.
Our home is close to the main road in Nkoowe, Wakiso, on the outskirts of Kampala. Workawayers will stay in a private room with a bunk bed in the same house as the hosts.
Meals are shared with the hosts and include a mix of local and international dishes. We also enjoy learning about different cultures and would love to try some of your favourite traditional meals too.
Power cuts can happen from time to time and may occasionally last up to 24 hours. We have solar power for lighting, but it is not strong enough for heavy appliances, so bringing a power bank is recommended.
We also recommend getting a local SIM card for easier internet access while moving around. We have fibre internet at home, but since it is fixed to the house, having mobile data can be very helpful when you are out exploring.
Autres infos...
During their free time, volunteers can explore many different parts of Uganda depending on their interests and budget. There are plenty of local hangout spots, cultural events, cafés, markets, and community activities around Kampala and the nearby areas.
For those interested in adventure and nature, Uganda offers amazing experiences such as seeing the Big Five, bird-watching, chimpanzee and gorilla trekking, hiking, visiting waterfalls, beaches, mountains, and national parks. Uganda is also home to the famous Source of the Nile in Jinja. We are happy to help volunteers organise affordable trips and safaris during their stay.
Transport around Kampala is mainly by 14-seater shared minibuses locally known as “taxis,” as well as boda bodas (motorcycle taxis). Ride-hailing apps are also available in many areas. For airport arrivals, we recommend arranging pickup with us to make your journey easier and more comfortable. The drive from the airport can take around 2 hours during busy traffic hours and less during quieter times of the day.
Visa Information
Most visitors to Uganda require a visa, including travellers from Europe, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. Volunteers are advised to apply for a tourist visa before arrival. Visa applications can usually be completed online.
If you plan to stay longer than the period granted on arrival, you should apply for an extension before your visa expires. For the latest visa requirements and updates, please check with the relevant Ugandan authorities or embassy in your country before travelling.
Passport
Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry into Uganda.
Funds and Cost of Living
Uganda is generally affordable compared to many countries, especially for everyday living costs. However, some tourism activities, such as gorilla trekking and national park visits, can be expensive, so it is good to plan ahead depending on your travel goals.
Vaccination Requirements
Travellers are usually required to present a valid Yellow Fever vaccination certificate on arrival. Please check the latest travel and health guidelines before your trip.
SIM Cards and Internet
Local SIM cards are easy to get and are available from providers such as MTN and Airtel. You will normally need your passport for registration. Mobile data is widely used, and internet bundles are generally affordable.
Language
English is widely spoken in Uganda and is the main official language. Luganda is also commonly spoken in and around Kampala and central Uganda.
